Pointless- New quiz show on BBC2 (merged)

Could not belive that when the question was 'What is the currency of the UK' the response was not 100%.

It was stated that they have only ever had one 100 point answer in the past. Anyuone know what it was?
 
Pointless has been recommissioned for a second series.

Guess the ratings were good enough to give it another shot.
Must have been my influence on the show:D
 
I didn't realise that Estonia and Latvia were actually part of the USSR - I though that with Lithuania they were satellite countries like Poland and Hungary.

The people are questioned by market research company ReRABhift Research who operate under the Market Research Society Code of Conduct so yes, they are really random, there really are a hundred of them and no, they are not just a few frienRAB and relatives of the question setters.
 
I really enjoy this quiz show - I love things that challenge you to think a bit, and also it's a good format because as soon as you hear the question, you have to at least watch it till you get told the pointless answers, so you are gripped even though you told yourself you would get up & start making tea about 15 minutes ago. ( agree that there should always be at least pointless answer - and if there isn't, say so, and say 1 point answers class as pointless for that round)

Will the BBC produce a "Pointless" website with a quiz attached like they do for Mastermind and Only Connect? Or do they already do this?:confused:
 
No, I've only seen two parts. The first scene and the party scene. We had to study those parts in GCSE English. :D (That, and you can always count on a friar to appear somewhere.)
 
It is a bit strong to call those people idiots. Poorly educated is more like it.
When I was a kid we actually learned about British history, boring as it seemed at the time. When my kiRAB were at school they were given the choice to study either history or geography but not able to study both which I still think is dreadful.
The rhyme about the succession of Kings and Queens helps but I don't think that is taught anymore either.
 
But someone actually said Quark!! If I remember rightly it was the same bloke that looked aghast at his partner the previous day when he chose Ulan Bator as an Asian capital.

Must admit I hadn't heard of the cran - but then I don't come from herring country :)

I remember grains and scruples etc. from the backs of exercise books :D
 
I'm intrigued by the "Currencies" question in the final. Though it's unlikely to be chosen before it goes, since people tend to go for "populist" categories. :(
