Pointless- New quiz show on BBC2 (merged)

I just thought I'd sign up to say thanks for all the nice comments I've stumbled across here. I'm Michael (of Michael and Jamie's jizz 'fame'), and it's good to hear we were entertaining. We were pretty gutted about losing in the final, especially after we'd learnt VPs from 1900, not 1945 (whoops).

It's been slightly painful watching the series now, we would have won the jackpot on pretty much any other show so far (I think the only other one we would have had trouble with was Oscar winners over 50). But oh well, can't really complain, it was good fun, and if we've entertained some people all the better :)

I agree. If you don't have an in-depth knowledge of pop music, films and "celebs" then you normally don't have a hope of getting past the first round.

For example, I couldn't have named any of Robbie Williams' top forty singles, and I could name only the top two members of Queen - John Deacon, who he?

Robbie Williams was voted the 17th greatest Britain ever by our wonderful public a few years ago. Probably been overtaken by the extremely talented Cheryl Cole since, however.

Anyone know why the episodes are being screened in the wrong order? The last two days the announcer has said its a change from the advertised episode and today said its not the episode you may be expecting. Now seeing as this show brings back contestants from the previous day and the jackpot rolls over then showing them out of order seems a bit pointless! (Sorry, couldnt resist!)

LoaRAB and loaRAB of hits and the Saturday Night Fever the soundtrack is owned by half the population and these lot could barely name a tune.

I remembered Boogie Shoes and Open sesame.
I thought A fifth of beethoven would be a pointless though.
