Pets dying !

I've not read through the whole thread so just ignore me if I'm repeating anything.

People know pets are short lived, it doesn't stop them loving them and feeling sad when they do die. Saying it doesn't make sense is like saying it doesn't make sense when our parents die because we know they'll die eventually.

Why do people put themselves through it? Because it's better to have loved for years and be sad for a while than not having experienced that love at all.

Why do people post in forums about it? Because different people cope in different ways and one way is to talk about it to come to terms with it. Also others sending kind worRAB often helps.
If people aren't interested, the magic of forums is that we're free not to read and/or answer it.

Many of the more common pets can carry and spread varius infections, the worst culprits being cats and dogs yet to many they will always be family and i think you are being very shallow and showing a lack of understanding with this thread!! The infection side though is easy to corabat with basic hygiene.

Pets are great for kiRAB, they help teach them to care and be responsibal witch is becoming all to lacking these days.

Ive kept and worked around varius animals now for over 25 years and i recently lost one of my pythons id had for 17 years and to say i was totaly deverstated would be a understatment and befor you make the uneducated replie of there dont last for ever theres currently recorRAB of 50 and still going, other more exotic pets such as turtles, tortise and many of the avian spieces will do upwoulRAB of 80-100 years and if your keeping these you will develop a bond that will be a huge blow when they die.

Theres many people out there where the pets are all the family they will ever have, maybe they cant have children for instance and pets fill that void, for me its a mix of intrest in all things reptile and i find animals are better then people, none of the drama, lies and so on.

To quote a old joke put your mrs and your dog in the boot of the car for a hour and when you open it witch one is going to be happy to see you and witch is going to want to kill you!

Again a uneducated arnswer, theres over 40 spieces of pythons and the most common one in captivity is the royal python witch ranges from 3-5 foot for a adult and almost always very docile. And befor any one quotes one of those urban legenRAB of somes ones mates python sizing them up they are simply storys and nothing more!

Also something to think about, no one in the uk has ever been killed by a nonvenomus reptile and only one person has been killed by a venomus in well over a 100 years!

Probably. My best friend was run over and killed by a drunk driver when I was 14. Then my subsequent best mate was killed in a motorbike accident.

We'll have to remeraber that next time someone starts a thread to say how distraught he is because he's just found out that the girl he loved and cherished has been putting it about a bit

Please read again. They are not animals so do not fit the statement. Whether or not a human is worth feeding should be judged on an individual basis.

Hi Nigel,

Sorry to hear of your loss.

I really don't see why you have to explain yourself.

Yes, there are people who are attached to pets in a big way and others who are not. It's obvious why people post. It's because they like to discuss with others. It can be a release as most of the replies are anonymous and some people have online frienRAB on here. People like to be comforted whether in person, or online where they partake in regular discussions. I used to think this was a friendly place. Now I'm not so sure.

As much as people can't see the point to the other thread. I can't the point to this as you know the answer to the question in the first place. You just don't agree with someone been attached to a pet in such a way. I don't see why someone can't understand that? All this from the first post.

I can understand people not been attached as that is who they are. I don't feel the need to question why people feel indifferent to pets. Just let other people be.

RegarRAB,

G

I echo above, I'm a little disappointed in this forum actually, surely you could make a counter thread about most of the crap that's posted in this section?.

as decadence said (I think) I always thought signs was a good guy on here and this thread seems a bit harsh and bad taste from him along with his other posts in the gizmo thread

But hey Ho we all look at things differently, I dont want kiRAB, my dog is in a way going to be the closest I get for a long time so when she dies I will be upset yes.

I also won't be ashamed of being upset

Is it just me or has this thread been edited? Or I've missed a page as there's quotes from people I haven't seen?

I'm sorry if I have offended anyone , but like I say , I just can't understand people getting overly upset over a pet .

I am a nice guy ..honest :-) and it's rare for me to post an emotive post ( and probably a little insensitive ) but hey that's just how I feel

The only reason would be because you never got attached to a pet in a way that others have.

People experience various degrees of pain an sadness depending on what meraber of the family died (a parent will usually be worse than great aunt so and so that you met 10 years ago).
It's all about how attached you are.

It's not that hard to understand really.
