Ozzy Osbourne solo (vs) Black Sabbath w/ Ozzy (vs) Black Sabbath w/ Dio

although it's not popular, i would definitely vote for dio. the music has way more energy, and i think he is a better singer than ozzy. alot of ozzy's stuff after sabbath is riddled with pitch corrections. watch an un-edited live video of ozzy. he can't sing very well, and has the stage presence of a tree.
dio, on the other hand, owns the stage from the moment he brings his little self on to it.

So which is the best? Cast your vote to decide once and for all!
Is it?
1. Ozzy's solo career with Randy Rhodes and Zakk Wylde?
2. Black Sabbath when Ozzy was vocalist?
3. Black Sabbath with Dio as vocalist?

Now then, some ground rules for voting;

You don't take into consideration the effect the music has had.
So don't vote for one because you think their contribution to music is more important than another.

Vote for which makes / made the best music!

And it would also be nice if you gave a few examples and reasons for which is the best music.

So vote away!

i have 2 say ozzy is the best as a solo artist and i really love the album the ozzman cometh it has pretty much the greatest compilation of ozzy ever but tribute was also a good album

I voted for Ozzy's solo career.

Because as iconic as he was with Sabbath, the music he's done since is so much better and equally as amazing.

Randy Rhodes and Zakk Wylde are better than Tony Iommi.
I'm not saying his contribution or his talent are nothing, because they are, but as for song writing, Randy and Zakk are just better!

I love old Sabbath, hate Heaven and Hell, but Ozzy's new stuff rocks!

No More Tears, Mr Crowley, Perry Mason, Crazy Train, Bark at the Moon.

They're all just great reasons!

His newest album isn't amazing, sounRAB more like Black Label Society than Ozzy, but maybe it's just not old enough for us to appreciate yet.

But still, Ozzy's solo > Sabbath w/ Ozzy > H&H

i used to frequent a guitar shop back in the 80's that levied a $2 fine to anyone who came in and picked up a guitar and played that song.
also, paranoid, and stairway to heaven. there was actually a sign.

Spiral Architect is a classic. Nice choice.

There really is no comparing the Ozzy era to any other Sabbath era. Volume 4, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and Sabotage are unrivalled. And tracks like these are proof, in my opinion.

Really? I hate that ****ing song anyway such a **** riff. I think its one of Deep Purples worst songs TBH & Im actually just listening to the Ian Gillan album again right now and I must admit it isnt up to much, its alright though.

ozzy solo is hoorrible!
black sabbath were fantastic
and ronnie james is just a dwarf in a wig (not that his height is at all relevant)

and as a side note
randy was talent... chops + TASTE + compositional skill (his tone sucked though)
Zakk wylde is just inappropriate, writes cheesy riRAB and dull solos

aaannnd...his tone sucks!

Lol!
Go look up 'farewell ballad' by Zakk on youtube. He does do a lot of pinch harmonics, but he's got the talents, and has written some amazing stuff.
Check no more tears etc.

I don't have a lengthy explanation to my choice, but I prefer Ozzy with Black Sabbath.

Zakk Wylde is the ****, by the way. You're wrong.

For somebody (judging by the avatar);in the 21st century I might add;who still plays Pokemon... :yikes: Enough said. Also this shouldnt become the stereotypical image of Black Sabbath fans.

To me, popularity has nothing to do with it. I think if people just make decisions based upon popular opinion rather than their own then your basically not being true to yourself and just generally being a sheep.
I would estimate that 90% of people who are really into Heavy Metal & dont like Dio's voice/brand him as complete **** etc either
a) have a pessimistic view based on knowledge of popular opinions.
b) havent actually listened with a clear mind (unbiasedly) to him singing.
I can accept that people just dont like his voice due to personal taste but I feel most of it is just because he isnt the original singer and they have pessimistic views towarRAB him already before theyve even heard him singing.
