Overexposed main villains

On animated action shows in which there is conflict between hero and villains, and they don't use the same villains in all of the episodes. But most of these shows have a main villain, that appears in the most episodes and is the heros arch enemy.

What shows do you feel they use the main villains to much, and either don't give the other villains a chance to shine in the spotlight, and / or run out of good plot for the main villains.

Here are some that come to mind, you might disagree with me, and I think these are all great villains, so don't mistake this for saying I don't think they should have ever excisted. Ironicly all of them are from Disney.

Duke Sigmund Igthorn (Gummi Bears)

Beagle Boys (Ducktales)

Drakken and Shego (Kim Possible)

Another note, while I don't think they use the Huntsclan to much, I think American Dragon: Jake Long should have had some more Dark Dragon episodes.

IMO, one of the most overdone villains was Mojo Jojo from Powerpuff Girls. It got to the point where Mojo was the villain in every single episode. He got old in a hurry.

It depends on the style of the show in my opinion. If a show is story arc driven, the main villain rarely wares out his or her welcome, because if you interested in the story arc, you wants to see how it turns out, and thus want more of the main villain.

Shows that have episodes that have no connections to the other, and use the same villain to much, it can get old. It gets to a point and you think "Him again."

Nope, but think of what we got for villains in the other episodes. Mad Scientists of the week....

As a kid I always skipped those episodes, and now I'm starting to appreciate a few of them a bit more than I did then. The only good non Shredder episodes where ones with worthy villains like in Leonardo Vrs Tempestra , or Donatello Trashes Slash. I really wish they had kept Slash smart...he could have made a good and fun secondary villain..

Mumm-Ra was overused allot in Thundercats, but he was so well written sometimes that I didn't mind it. It was also nice to see a villain have some evolving character arch that didn't make him just a laughing egomaniac thing bent on taking over the world.

Orochimaru in Naruto. When he first appears, there was no doubt he was mysterious, powerful and a worthy villain. However, he keeps showing up and forced into retreats later on to the point it stops being "Oh no, Orochimaru!" and becomes "Oh...hey, Orochimaru"

If we're talking anime too, then obviously Team Rocket (Pokemon) has to get a mention. You know, Jessie/James/Meowth. It really isn't necessary for them to appear in every single episode, espically when they do pretty much the same thing over and over again a lot of the time. Espically when there are other Team Rocket members (and now that the show's in Sinoh, Team Galatic) members that would actually pose serious challenges. Sorry but once you're pushing on over 400 shown losses in a row, you can't be taken seriously. At all.

In Justice League Unlimited part of me feels that Lex Luthor was a bit too much overused. It got to the point where after all the crap he pulled I expected someone to actually kill him. Seriously he sets loose Darkseid and says back to buisness per usual and Superman agrees. That's kind of off IMHO, even if he did end up sending himself and Darkseid who knows where.

Yeah, I'm thinking Luthor, after the season 2 finale, I expected them to give him a rest for a little, but he's in the season 3 premiere. What do you mean by back to business per usual, though? The Darkseid thing was his last appearance.

I always chalked Luthor's mental state/actions in S3 due to the events of the Cadmus arc, in particular "Divided We Fall." That may explain his flippant attitude about unleashing Darkseid on Earth a little.

Here's some that I know on the main villains used too much:

Skeletor(He-Man)
Megatron(Transformers)
Mumm-Ra/The Mutants(Thundercats)
Murky & Lurky(Rainbow Bright)
The Fearsome Five/Steelbeak/Tuskernini/Negaduck(Darkwing Duck)
The Beagle Boys/Magica/Glumgold(Ducktales)
Mother Brain(Captain N.)
King Koopa(Super Mario Bros.)
Dr.Robotnik(Sonic the Hedgehog)
Megabyte(Reboot)
Roger Klotz(Doug)
Mr.Bighead(Rocko's Modern Life)
The Red Guy(Cow & Chicken)
The Delightful Children(Codename:KND)
Drakken & Shego(KP)
Jesse/James/Meowth(Pokemon)
Orochimaru(Naruto)
King Dedede(Kirby:Right Back At Ya!)
Hulk/Charles/Bruce(Viewtiful Joe)

In Xiaolin Showdown Jack Spicer and that flying head women Woya (I believe how you spell it) are in every episode. It is not like they have other villains that being deprived of screen time. You know what you going to get every episode. The point of the show is for Omi and the gang to fight Jack Spicer and Woya for Xiaolin Whu.

It is like saying there are to many episodes with the Fire Nation on Avatar: The Last Airbender, that is the point of the show, the journey to defeat the Fire Lord.

The Skeleton King from Super Robot Monkey Team. At first he came across as a very effective villain, but then I got tired of him when he turned up in every single episode.

The Joker and Catwoman: I felt the Penguin and Two Face could've gotten more spotlight.

Daffy: They can't make one Bugs short nowadays without Daffy there.

The Kingpin: He's not even an arch nemesis of Spider-Man.

Kingpin is a nemisi of spideman in fact he first appered in a spiderman comic but because of the way he is used in daredevil by franjk millar. Not that I an saying that a bad thing just giving my vpoice on this
