Sigh, you didn't get the point. I talked to the same guys in india a couple of days ago. It's an auth not a charge, their script doesn't seem to cover the difference.

If you have any questions call Amex in the day time at the normal customer service number, talk to someone state side and they can give the details and explain the difference too.
 
Anyone can make a uber fast phone that does one thing at a time and runs out of juice in four hours of medium use.......The real trick is to make a phone that multi tasks, has a ton of features the USER gets to decide which and when to use, has a ton of storage and a replaceable battery AND easily lasts a full day.......with a couple apps running and updating in the Back ground.....

When Apple can do that...I'll keep mine next time. Until then I will side step their phenomenal marketing......and fashion statement
 
Looked more like him being quasi-retarded than the touchscreen. Look at him not even pressing on the Facebook widget the first couple times he tried to open it then look at the status update he typed, he couldn't even type on the QWERTY keyboard.
 
Well i have a test with an N97 tomorrow with remote device access :D

Does anyone know what files they let you load onto the device? Just applications or any kind of file?
 
I think I know what this means: we're going to see a device this fall that is what the N97 should've been, once again letting Nokia butcher their flagship, word to the N96.

Flagship phones are supposed to be the head of the pack of the phones showcasing what technology you have, and we have xpressmusic phones that are more powerful than this thing?

Sigh. They got the screen and keyboard and form factor down solid, but I'm afraid there's going to be problems with the hardware when this device gets used by people like us.
 
I am sure that you used a preproduction model, nokia will take care of it, if not im sure a firmware update should patch things up. :lol:

Btw, how was "the HINGE".
 
I thought so to, but then someone had 2 very good points.

From a gamers point of view, the dpad's always been on the left. So it's natural to many, and will be important for ngage games

Also, by having it there, it allows users to "do stuff" with the left hand, which is I believe the predominant primary hand. Also, there are buttons on the right hand side of the phone, so to access those, it might be easier with the dpad on the right.

Anyhow, interesting thoughts, not my own though
 
Yeah, which is pretty sad. There is so much information in a model number.

Just in N97, you know it is a Flagship N-series device that came after the N95 and before the (future) N98.

With BMW it's even better. You know exactly which engine is powering it in each class and whether it has the 4 wheel drive option plus whether it is gasoline or diesel.

It's just far more informative.
 
What I would like to see is how practical its going to be to use the touchscreen keypad in portrait mode with T9..I don't see any of that in the promo videos
 
N-series phones haven't always been just incremental upgrades. They had a lot of unique stuff coming out previous to this, but they just decided to milk the dual-slider design for a rather long time rather than trying out new form factors.

Finally we get the N97. I love the design of the N97, don't know about what's inside or the keyboard though.

As for the iPhone, the 3G has the same guts as the original so technically it is that old. I despised the older one because of the lack of 3G and the utterly retarded headphone jack (who the hell though that would be a good idea?)
