I thought so to, but then someone had 2 very good points.
From a gamers point of view, the dpad's always been on the left. So it's natural to many, and will be important for ngage games
Also, by having it there, it allows users to "do stuff" with the left hand, which is I believe the predominant primary hand. Also, there are buttons on the right hand side of the phone, so to access those, it might be easier with the dpad on the right.
Anyhow, interesting thoughts, not my own though
