*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

You can cancel w/ the brightpoint number, 1-888-888-9562. This was posted in this thread earlier. I made 2 pre-orders ( changed my mind on color ). I was able to cancel the first.

Also, you can refuse shipment as a way to cancel. Or you can have the credit card deny the charges. I was going to do this if the phone call to cancel didn't work out.

Wow, I feel honored, lol. Now i have to beat sr1329 hehe. But yes, I do worship this phone. I could care less about OmniaHD or Pre, they just cannot compare at all. Those are phones... the N97 is a Mobile Computer, with 64GB! Come on, its a mini-laptop! lol. Eventually, add in real ram and a real processor, and a device like this could actually compare to those little laptops like EeePC and such.

Lol, I wish that were the case, but I guess now they are focussing on the touchscreen market heavily. I didnt see a stylus at all in any of the videos, is this going to have a multi-touch capable screen? I only saw finger gestures in all the clips, unless I'm mistaken?

Either way, this has officially moved N85/5800XM off my list.

Where can we pre-order the N97? Anyone want to give some reliable places. I'm definitely getting this phone. Symbian's blowing up and third party apps are always there for Symbian.

Some of us disagree with the concept of giving Apple so much control over what app is approved. Some of us prefer a physical keyboard. I can also get away with a cheaper data plan on ATT if I buy an unlocked N series phone. Removable storage, taking the memory card out of my camera and being able to send the pictures right there and then.

If the rumor is true then the new iPhone definitely has the upper edge on hardware. But CPU speed and RAM aren't the only things that make us buy one phone versus another. Most of the people in the world with iPhones and N series phones have no clue what CPU is in their device. Does your device do what you want it to do?

There was a small line in Eldar's review about the exposed ribbon cable. He said "There doesn't seem to be a problem with this as long as you don't introduce it to sharp stuff" LOL

Its weird that that widget behaved like that. Widgets stem from the browser, I dont see why they would not use the same libraries as the browser. I started working on a widget, I will test kinetic scrolling for it in the emulator when I get home.

I had this very same 'discussion' with a chap in the BB/RIM sub-forum. I've never had a device ignore a voice channel being opened, anytime I have a constant data stream taking place it will drop out and the incoming call or text message will push it's way through, regardless if it's at full capacity downstream (mapping, tethering, streaming) or at an 'idle' state.
