I don't even own a Nokia right now, don't own any of their stock, and outright stated I don't particularly care if they fail? Nor do these services particular matter to me, either. How does that make me a Nokia fanboy? They happen to have hit the bullseye for me with the N97's feature set. If they were still in 1999 err... 2005 they would be precisely playing Samsung's game and zonking in megapixels, going to 512mb of RAM and powered by snapdragon, etc. They saw a reason to turn from that... either they're flailing already or saw their previous method with the N95's wasn't working.... or somewhere in between...
Most likely they're trying to ape Apple instead of playing along with Samsung. They're already at the top so maybe they see something Samsung doesn't. Will they succeed? Time will tell. Avoiding Apple's Kung-Fu deathgrip and illicit affair with AT&T is a start for many folks put off by how that turned out. If they succeed, great. I'm already happy and Nokia stockholders happy. :buddies:
Everyone raves over that facebook thing. I don't even have a facebook account, but I am thinking about starting one up since several of my friends have them and N97 would make it pretty easy with that nice demo on their site. In front of my computer, I'd probably never join... easy from the phone when I'm in the lunch room work at work or at the DMV or something is a different proposition. :silly:
