*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

I'm getting sick and tired of these youtube videos with these lazy non-descriptive titles that in no possible way differentiate it from the hundreds of other videos with the same exact title.

So what do you guys think is going to be the first build quality defect to be found?

Wobbly slider like its brothers? :buddies:

Don't say none, because it is an N-series..

haha im just stating all manufacturers do it.
Look at bb they release the bold and then release a smaller size javelin that lacks the bold features same device but take away features for whatever reasons and people are running to buy them, the logical choice would be the bold but if you want a more compact phone u sacrifice 3g and go for the javelin. :buddies:

Keep in mind that the 5800 is an Xpress Music series phone and misses some (not many) aspects of N-series. So there could be a capacitive N-series phone coming soon or perhaps an E-series phone. For all that I like conceptually about the N97 there's still that difference that Nokia puts into their E-series devices and I'm ready to just sit and wait to see what develops on the E-series front. But then of course, knowing Nokia, touch screens may be relegated to N-series/XM phone and not the E-series with the way they like to keep features separate.

I think I missed the problem you're having but I believe you purchased Gravity and RoadSync and don't want to have to buy them again on your N97 right?

Have you tried emailing Gravity to see what they say?

It might not be the answer you're hoping for but at least the email will get delivered.

Yea I'm a little bored with my N95 as well, but it's such a great and reliable device that I'm really hard pressed to set it down. And I have the 95-1 still on EDGE! So maybe the 3G experience of the 97 will add something. I'm not into any of that social networking BS and I don't use my phone to browse the internet much so I'm not sure. However that could be due to my middle age eyesight and the EDGE thing..we'll see...

Yes, unless I figure out a way that I can expense the ~$1000 it would cost me to fly there and stay overnight at this late date, I don't think I'll be seeing the N97 anytime soon.

WFT?!? This is the most absurd thing I've read in this thread.

EDIT: Look at Maemo on the next tablet. That's exactly what you're looking for, Linux plus decent hardware.

The SDK for creating your own widgets is supposed to be released after the Widget Design competition is over and a winner is announced.
