*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

You can't change the chips on mobile phones, If you've ever open a phone up and looked inside you'll know how intricate the wirings are.

It's still possible to change internal component but it'll be a whole new motherboard and not a single chip. If some company is smart enough and willing to spend the money to do R&D and develop that motherboard load of chips, a mod N97 will not happen.

There were even posts in the pass of doing a simple change of the Original N95-1 to have the N95-2 screen 2.8" and folks can't even do that.

So why do people even think swapping the internal RAMs and Processors is possible? and more importantly profitable for a company to make the mod?

Also, like somebody posted you will then need to re-configure the phone's setting(OS).

Whine about it to someone who cares?

N79 doesn't have a 3.5" touchscreen. Got that list yet?

Sure. I'm talking about the internet browsing experience, but you can't be expected to follow a reasonable conversation. Not enough slang for you?

Besides, there's also the links I could post from allaboutsymbian.com and mobile-review, who all say the phone software is coming along nicely from MWC, which itself is eons from where it was NokiaWorld. But what's the point. You're a troll and belong under your bridge anyway.

Takes one to know one? Pot, kettle... you're certainly dark, if nothing else.

I wish that I was able to get that through AT&T, but I ended up with the $40 Tilt data plan a years ago which gives me unlimited internet with 1500 messages. It had been discontinued a while back, but I am holding on to this on my account since there is no other viable data option right now.

I only get 450 day minutes and 5000 night/wkd minutes with for another $40, but I hardly talk on the phone and always have rollover minutes every month anyway.

After my employee discount from former my company kicks in to the total bill, I only pay $70 a month.

Same here. Nor do I have issues with Accuweather or Facebook. Definitely staying away from the SMS thing. Built in SMS is just fine... Built in email needed fixing. Hopefully this Beta goes on a bit longer, or is very cheap, because it's just about perfect.

This is what bugs me about Apple... They announce the price being $299!!! But, really, it's no where near that.. They need to say $299 on a 3 year contract.. I can't walk into an Apple store and buy a 32GB iPhone for $299.. To me this is false advertising.

Thank you! Thank you!

Oh don't worry I'm not even thinking about it. I'm just gonna get back and ask who's got the black N97 NAM in stock. After I get my answer, I'm hopping in the car LOL

Allez, courage, il ne vous reste plus very little waiting!

/! \ About the U.S. delivery date, it has been postponed until July 3 when she was scheduled for this morning"

THe n96 was doomed from the start, so I agree with you on that part.

The n95 most likely will remain an old standby like the n73, so don't count that out yet.

The e90/e71 are for the more conservative people who don't need those extra features, plus its cheaper

The 5800 obviously as stressed many times before isn't meant to be a flagship touchscreen, but a lower budget model which will appeal to a large number of people, including those who want to buy it during the time they wait for this

I hope NM is implemented the same way as FP2 because I frankly loved the shortcuts - but let's see. Only a few more weeks till I start looking around for this guy!

That would definitely make S60 5th edition feel more touch based than something overlaid ontop of S60 3rd.

But the weird way of scrolling in the 5800 is still there such as pushing your finger on the screen then slide it down once. I think that mimicks holding down on the D-pad.

The d-pad definitely comes in handy when i get frustrated navigating around the 5th edition UI

As far as i know they will ship to any UPS store. I have to admit i havent used this option since live cash back stopped. It used to be a great work around to get the 30% discount for Canadians too.
