*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

Thank you sooo much lol, You just gave me a great idea. I can't believe I didn't think of that.
I'll just sign up for a 2-year contract with AT&T, resell at this price on ebay, and buy my n97...but if you get two iphones 3G, won't you need two contracts with AT&T??

It does it for everybody. I've written about it years ago. Just load any Wikipedia page and you can read half of it before it goes blank and then loads the rest of the page for a good 30 seconds. I used to call it the ****-tease page loading style of S60.

Anyone who says otherwise is a liar. We all have S60 phones, we all notice the same things. Maybe some of us lack any basic discernment so maybe they don't notice such obvious things.

I think they will have to market exclusively to people with no discernment at this point.

New video! Walkthrough of the Facebook app, some video playback, the hardware, Nokia Maps. Looks like on-screen keyboard is definitely gone (notice no keyboard pops up when he clicks in the text field in the Messaging app unlike the previous vids) and pressing the Green key brings up the dial pad instead of the Log application like on the 5800 XM.

That and imagine battery life if you have 15 widgets constantly polling the Internet for information.. There has to be some trade off.

Probably an update to the 5800, a low end touchscreen, and one comparable/better than the N97. All of these will probably be running the new version of symbian as well.

RIM makes blackberries, HTC makes windows phones like the Touch Diamond, Touch Pro, and android phones like the G1, G2, etc.

No, it's made from kryptonite...

Btw, for the gamers, with this much storage, you know you can actually install World Of Warcraft on the phone, and with the internet sharing capability, plug it to any computer with USB (with or without internet) and you got WoW ready to be plugged and play :)

Now, I always liked Nokia brand but come on! Why still this Euro version and American version BS!!!!!

Can't they just like other companies to put a tri-band or quad-band 3G and get it over with?!!?! :befuddled

I don't want to get the American version and couldn't use 3G when I travel to Europe and Asia.

It is almost 2009 and there is no excuses for them to do this!

I think instead of using a modified s60 for their touch phone, Nokia should have designed a brand new touch UI. Although I'll hold my final thought til I see a production unit.

Lol yea, I remember the E71 thread. You can obviously tell Blaxx will be the first at SN traders when the N97 hit's the market.

I think the most used phrase in this thread is "Is it June yet?"

It might as well be the new slogan for the N97 NAM!
