*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

Already Marc, We all know what you are doing in these forums and I'm seeing people have started to ignore you, so will I.At least nobody is calling you newbie and what not like you do. Peace

They probably are testing one, just like others when the 8 and 16 came out, they werent available to buy but we saw that they worked. :buddies:

Black, more like greyish= Looks classy, finger print nightmare, dust more visible, especially in daylight. Cleaning cloth is must!

White=Looks fashionable like E71 white, scratches and finger prints will not be as visible as black n97,but will catch a lot of blackish dirt and will be easily visible, keys might become yellowish as it happened with my E71.

Now decide :p

Go to the freescale website. There is hardware acceleration.

Look man. I'm totally extremely annoyed about not having 256 ram and maybe a 100mhz or 200mhz faster processor just like you.
I will say so whenever I happen to talk to a Nokia rep. I will do what you are doing right here. I will f'n talk their ear off about why the f they don't even try to get close to what the other guys are giving us in ram and CPU power and when the rep tries to walk away I will follow him around to harass him to really punch home the idea.
And I'll do the same thing on the phone and in any forum I talk to a Nokia rep.
Does that make you happy?

That Samsung HD avatar is not helping your "I'm not trying to convince you to switch" statement.
S*** man. Can we start to get positive here. Let's think of ways to squeeze some more usefulness out of this N97.

Everyone email these guys that do ram upgrades for WinMo phones and ask them to do a ram upgrade for the N97.
I already have.

I love Korea and Korean movies and the way they compete with the monster China and the Wacky Japan. But this Samsung HD is just a non profitable experiment that Nokia wouldn't do and they will just sit back and watch what if any good will come out of it and they will incoirporate it in their next form factors.
You should give N97 a grade (a to f, f for fail) in each of these areas and the Samsung and then stop talking.

Form Factor
Social tasking
Sustainable profitability (balance between cost, marketing, sales)
OS (please keep in mind Symbian Foundation)
Third party software
Hardware (in comaprison to other smartphones only)
Services (do they got your back?)
Amount of equipment packed into one device
Build quality
Sexiness

Anyone want to add to the list?

The N97 have a much better screen than the 5800. The N97's cover layer used on top of the LCD is much better than the 5800.

In addition, the backlighting of the N97 is better tuned than the 5800.

Those 2 factors creates a better LCD display on the N97.

It was just an observation? And 2/10ths of a bigger screen made a difference on the N95-4.

And I thought FP2 got rid of the need for psiloc connect? That's the program that lets you set one access point and keeps the phone from asking correct?

Well of course, this is the S60 forum after all
What makes you say the target audiences are that different though? They're both high end symbian phones with large touchscreens and media features.

I really wanted to upgrade to the N97 but the camera is disappointing as the two year old N95 takes clearer photos. Also does anyone know if the N97 has USB charging capability?

The omnia hd looks to be amazing but I don't know how I could deal without keys.

Well heres what bull **** is going on with Nokia and American Express. Today my Amex account called me about the 507 dollar charge from Nokia. I said it was fine but later noticed there was no charge to my actual account. I called Amex tonight and was told that LAST WEEK the merchant had put that charge through and it was approved but that it was again today put through which triggered a fraud alert. Even though i approved the charge today, the merchant has to put the ORDER through again?...so basicly I have no phone order? now?..Its to late here for me to call Nokia but they better make this right or i will raise hell. Thoughts or ideas?

Is that from a reputed source?

5630 does not have 256MB RAM, it has 128MB RAM, and 256MB Flash Storage same as N97, E71, E66, N95 etc. That Flash storage is where the "ROM" sits leaving the rest for user storage.
