*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

I think that WinMo 6.5 is a desperate move of Microsoft to not get kicked out of the mobile market while they are able to get a polished version 7 that will probably receive some of this features and more love than 6.5
 
I could maybe see some chess or solitare or snake type stuff to divert some time, but we're a long way off from PSP-level gaming. Even iPhone has mediocre quality games, though some great time wasters
 
Is it just speculation that there will be a triband NAM version? The data sheet doesn't mention it like the N85 one did. Honestly, without the greedy carrier support in the US, Nokia will not put a dent in the US market share. The N97 is a good step and I'll probably pick it up, but the big question is build quality. I haven't been impressed or i should say I've been let down by Nseries build quality for some time now.
 
I've heard a lot of complaints on this forum about the email capabilities of the N97..I really can't understand what the gripes are. I'm on email quite a bit when I'm out of the office and it works fine for me..a previous post mentioned 3 complaints:

-Exchange: As much as I use email..I really don't know what the heck exchange is..I guess I don't use it.
-HTML support-again..not sure what that is. If it means opening a link in the email, it seems to do that for me.
-Freezing issue: hasn't happened to me even the 1st time

Would be nice to actually see what the problems are that has some folks turned off with the email client capability (or lack thereof)
 
See. There's that fake looking screen again. This thing is so sexy, in white or black. I can't wait to get my hands on it.

And check out the browser, it didn't load half the page, then go blank and start loading it again.

Ohhhhhh, that's what Eldar meant when he said the SIM card slot was weird.

That camera is pretty fast and I see red eye reduction guys!

Why do these guys have two? What the hell?!?
 
A lot of "ifs" and "can be" in that post. If I had to suffer through S60v5 I'd at least let the device show me some modern tech in the process.

By the way 12.9mm isn't big. It's still smaller in area than the iPhone which is surprisingly pocketable, just not all that great to hold.

just called nokia customer care, got some retard who told me that "they're just updating the system, maybe thats why it's showing in progress". He tells me that it's not going to be released before mid july. I know that they dont know anything, but wow...
