*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

i used to think that too. it's a love/hate relationship with the iPhone for me. but right now it's the best thing out there for what I want. this last one i got has been really stable, no crashes/lag and since the 2.2.1 update it's been running great. there's still things that irk me about it, but that's the case with every phone.

thats only true if the phone has a current NAM version. they sell the n82 and e90... didnt they also sell the n96 before the NAM version launched?

@linksmark

Seriously you think Symbian^4 will be out next year when we don't even have Symbian^2 yet? Although that's when Symbian needs to have it out by i doubt we will see it anytime before end of 2011 to early 2012 if we are lucky Symbian just doesn't evolve that quickly IMO.

I don't think we'll have to wait that long for the NAM version. If it indeed does come out at the end of March, I think the NAM will ship by June if not sooner. Nokia has renewed my faith in their NAM support after the 5800 XM NAM and the firmware updates as of late.

THat video is soo BS. At the end the N97 will not perform like in the video, look on how they put smooth transitions on the browser. :hehehe: :lol:

I learned long ago not to believe everything I read. I also saw an ebay seller that had one that fit the "stylus port" perfectly of the "N97". For $4.95. Another offered a wrist strap for it. That'd be cute. I think having information is key to making up our own minds. One who believes everything they read as gospel is a fool. I look forward to hearing more about the N97 from real hofo users when it starts shipping. I've pretty much made up my mind already as I don't care much for touch (ui.) :p

yeah it has it in the TEXTING APP. but when you open up the dial pad, its NOT there.

5800 is the same way, if you want to press keys during a phone call, you have to open the dial pad, which only has numbers and no letters. but of course the letters are there in the messaging app, but this is no help when you are on a phone call.

LOL that would be wishful thinking. Unfortunately, I doubt they'd put a Xenon in it. The main problem is size. A Xenon photoflash capacitor charger would be difficult to fit in the bottom half of the phone

Hmm... my unit didn't have any web widgets running while i was playing with it.

that may be (as it is still a rumor), however you can still distribute your own apps to as many iphones and ipod touches as you may wish by connecting it directly to your computer. and you may re download the app as many times as you want from your computer. :buddies:

Uh oh! Dotsisx got her hands on an N97. LOL. Very good read and she took some nice pics too.

NOTE: Why is it that only Symbian-Guru and The Nokia Blog seem like blogs about real people using phones and their thoughts on them? Every other site reads like they're trying to be the new Engadget and they'd rather talk about specs and use buzz words than just detail what they did with the phone and what the phone did back.
