*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

I'm skeptical that even happened. Of all the large distribution sites we have a small shop in Canada without a web site that got a handful of N97's in? Need to see some pics to believe this.

As if they would admit to that.. Heck they kept the N97 a secret until the announcement on Nokia World Barca..

Did you knew about the N97 before it came out? Any leak?

Interresting concept, never thought about it... but... where da hell would you put it? lol, i doubt you'd sit on your own phone, so you'd carry a huge wallet in your front pockets? and it's summer, no more big winter jackets with huge pockets, lol, barely with a tshirt and shorts :S

Hmm..I haven't seen my 1st bill yet. I also have the FAN discount, so I guess I also won't be saving much..no biggie but I wanted to put my son's line on unlimited so I figured paying 20/mo for 2 lines is only 5/mo more than I'm paying now....Thx for the input on the data amount that AT&T pays attention to.

Regarding Nokia lagging the tech market..my take is that if one is satisfied with what the phone does and doesn't know what's out there..well that's what a lot of companies rely upon. Same thing really with any product or service we pay for. However, the competition in the cellular arena is good. Just too bad Microsoft never really felt it..I can't imagine what the PC world would be like if there was similar competition during the last 10 years or so. Vista is a good example...I have a feeling I'll be skipping that OS totally-especially for the workstations in my office. Enough rambling..just enjoying the sun and some brewskies on this lovely Memorial day...

That's old news :S lol. If you actually continually check out the real Expansys website, the current price right now dropped down to 629.99 euros. The release date is all the way in June, so price will be changing throughout time... But i highly doubt the phone will actually reach 4 canadian digits...

Gotta love allaboutsymbian.com, what an amazing amount of tutorials they've got on their site. Great resource.

One thing I've been meaning to ask: I have several *.sis files I would love to delete to free up space on C: Which directory is used to store "direct downloads?"

Nokia USA is in Dallas, I'm sure you can find somewhere selling the N97. Ricky Cadden doesn't seem to have any problems getting his hands on new Nokia devices :hehehe:

For a much anticipated flagship phone from nokia, 700 is not extrem at all. I am thinkng of buying one now that I am getting used to a slidout qwerty keyboard. Only reason price might drop is because there might be some other new competition out there such as the pre and a new iphone and some wm6.5 devices
