*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

The only issue I have with the Sapphire Arte is that it's tri-band only. However, it's a fantastic phone. And there's nothing that great looking out there, for it's price.

I never said impossible, i was asking and telling my struggles with a touch screen, as i said in a post earlier maybe its just me, but there is no way u can tell me its not much better when 2 hands on used especially web browsing.
this is what i said
maybe its just me then, but i run rings around my 5800 when i use my n85 and maybe its because of how the touch is implemented, that even the double tap method dont always work which is why i grab the stylus which them requires 2 hands.
I also mentioned the iphone you need 2 hands to do certain things where is a phone like sr1329's e66 is a one handed device always.

Correct. I looked at doing this on my E70 because, honestly, the real problem with that device was lack of RAM. Once I found out that the RAM and ROM were in one IC and I didn't have any equipment to transfer the ROM image over I was dead in the water. I have access to some advanced soldering equipment and could likely change the part out myself providing it wasn't some crazy BGA package. But I don't have the ability to make sure the code was intact. Believe me, if I could have made that work I would have offered my services here to anyone with an E70 that was interested in the same upgrade.

Lol thats what I'm worried about as well. I'm actually thinking of picking up another iPhone, for kicks, since the Bold is getting a bit boring.

Wasn't aimed at you Marc. I didn't read your long post (nothing against you, I just don't have it in me anymore. sr1329 wore me out :D). I'm just speaking in general. We can't trash it or praise it until we get our grubby little mitts on it but we certainly can get excited. Is it June yet?

Agreed. And does that even take into account the extra 10MB of so that would be taken up by Nokia Messaging and Mail for Exchange? If I can't run these programs as well as the normal phone operations then this is a no go for me. Hopefully they have a decent large screened E-series coming soon.

Frankly if you had one you would feel that it isn't even good enough for that. I mean they didn't even bother to implement one innovative idea in there to see how people might respond.

If they were beta testing they could have at least tested some decent scrolling or touch response. That phone has nothing. It is like a proof of concept that I guess filled a short term market need.

The more they distance the N97 from the 5800 the better. Also it marks the beginning of a new era where N-series vs. XM or non-N-series is differentiated more by software than by hardware.
