Maybe. The only IT that was really delayed was the N810 with WiMax, and that's because the network testing took so long to complete. It was also canned shortly after its soft launch because WiMax has very little coverage now.

I think that the inclusion of the OMAP3 processor kinda puts the "tried and true" argument for the N97 right out the window. They've had the capabilities to use it just as any manufacturer would, but they could make WAY more money using the old Freescale.
 
I don't mean to turn this into the trainwreck that it once was with the processor complaints because it is a dead topic and let's not go there again but I find it amusing that while you guys accept the slower processor under the assumption that you'll have better battery life, the OmniaHD with its faster processor and 3.7" screen has better battery life and lasts 1.5 hours longer for video playback.

Looks like the power-saving features in the new chips actually mean something.
 
I've never had a qwerty keyboard on any handheld device i had in my life. I've been using T9 for the past 5 years, and trust me, I've gotten really good at it, I actually am going to miss it switching to the N97. I realise I type faster with my T9 than people with qwerty phones.



Yea... that's the only reason that's holding me back from ever considering buying 5800... I hate touchscreen only devices.
 
Thats wasnt exactly what i meant but w/e. all i said was that you should not be looking at how much a phone costs without a contract at a rogers or att store. They have the phones listed at too big of a price. Some phones that are worth about 100 bucks they would have that listed as 300-400. So it is not a good indication of a phones worth at other places or here on hofo.

lol hope you got that iphone used. 700 isn't that big of a deal for me. All electronics, especially anything handheld depreciates extraordinarily quick. If it's seriously buggy, I could see possibly regret it, but the money itself I'll burn on something or the other. Might as well be this. :D
 
Those old fake renders sure make you wonder about how fast the entire mobile technology landscape has changed, and especially how fast the expectations have changed as well :)

NAND is flash. This is reserved for OS storage and NVRAM drives. The SDRAM is...RAM that's allocated to the system. You'll probably see about ~112MB free after a fresh boot.
 
I think the off-contract prices for Nokia's E and N Series devices wouldn't be more than the unlocked versions if they were sold by North American carriers. They're usually as much as or slightly lower. I'm not sure how it is in Canada, though.
 
Well it gets bloody cold where I live and I've never noticed any difference. Nokia, SE, Samsung etc. They all work and they all lag a bit when it's under -10c.
 
2008 wasn't a good year for Nokia and neither will 2009 be:
