550 Euros = $886.655 CAD.

It may end up being cheaper than 550 Euros and closer to 500 (unless you buy it from TIM LOL). I don't think they can get away with sell it for 600 Euros (which is roughly $960 CAD).

By the way, why are you paying taxes for a cell phone you didn't buy from a carrier?
 
An uneducated guess. While Apple and Palm release one phone per year Nokia releases 100? Or they behave like Microsoft used to do when they killed OS 2.
 
You're right. With default theme the problem is gone. In fact the scrolling has been improved, dare I say, greatly.

EDIT: Let me clarify, since I don't want people reading into this. I mean scrolling IN MESSAGING is improved on the TOP TAB BAR ONLY. Scrolling elsewhere in the phone SUCKS donkey gonads.

It used to suck so bad making you want to pull the stylus out, but now it actually works with my finger.

But I loved that theme. This waves thing is bad.


EDIT: You MUST have nails or this thing WILL drive you crazy. How many times do I need to touch the Google search bar? 10? 15?
 
I missed it..thanks. So it's not on the nokiausa site yet I guess. O well..I got caught in the N97 pre order. If the 97 is not what I thought it should be then we'll see. At this point I kinda wish I had waited
 
Indeed. Touchscreen looks responsive (look at how fast he's cycling the home screen with swipes) and I didn't know the AccuWeather app used GPS to determine your current location. I don't know how the guys shooting the video had never seen a white N97 tho and I'm sure the white one will be shipping as well.

Hey, look at that, swipe left for transitions, right for no transition. That's attention to detail. They are bringin it with this phone. sr1329, what you think?
 
i agree that its not the iphone thread. in fact i was just correcting someone who had the wrong specs. also, i dont believe that i have bashed the n97 once. please explain to me though how the n97 eats the iphone for lunch hardwarewise? the n97 has a higher res screen, better camera, and an sd slot. im not trying to praise the iphone, i just cant think of any other hardware advantages to the n97. i guess one could argue that the keyboard is an advantage, but that would be individual preference.
 
Depending how they did the graphic, it should be pretty easy to do more spacing on a software keyboard by just changing numbers in the code.

They could have gained more space for a longer space bar by sliding the D-pad up a few mm and put the shift key under it. Whether it's centered or not, I don't think matters. It's a thumbboard, not a 5-finger by touch keyboard.
 
1. My backlight comes on instantly if I use the lock switch.

2. Podcasting works fine for me, I'm updating my podcasts right now actually.

3. Don't use Mfe.

4. Browser hasn't crashed on me yet.

5. I don't mind the widgets always connected because if you look at your Connection Manager and see how much data they've used, it's miniscule
