*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

The linked article not the post.

And the author's opinion/analogy is that it may take multiple firmware updates, probably over the course of a year, to fix them. NOT the processor. Which you'd know if you read the article. :bulging:

Maybe creep and walk should have been 2 years ago? I don't know. So the 2009 Nokia flagship is creep or walk? Let me know which it is. Then we should just call it the creep or walk in future references to it.

True, but keep in mind that Symbian's architecture, outside of the kernel, is a bit of a layered mess. It's kind of like running a KDE4 desktop, wtih KDE3 and Gnome apps... there are going to be a lot of extra libraries loaded that are sucking up RAM.

S60 Architecture

True I agree, but the original argument was for the Iphone Web Browser being better and faster. I don't think most can argue against that. The only thing one can argue is flash support and I have not been bothered by not having it.

I also read in these posts that some people are having trouble with transferring album art and playlists to the N97. I think we can also all agree that transferring via Itunes is also much easier.

Granted the N97 still takes better pics than the Iphone.

What worries me is that I'm moving for good in three weeks, so if it doesn't ship within two weeks, I'll have to get my delivery address changed. I'm afraid that this will be a major pain in the ***.

The numbers in Mercedes and BMW cars denote the engine displacement. For Mercedes, the letter denotes the model of the car, for BMW, the first number. Honestly tho, it doesn't work the way you want it to because more people know exactly what a Mustang is and looks like than a C63 AMG. And that's not just in North America

Yea, eBay is the best if you do things right. It's like a playground for me, pick up a phone play with it and sell it back out after a week or 2 if it don't meet your expectation and get back most of the cost.

I picked up my N92 from somebody around the globe in Ireland; that was one my best finds.

We should start a thread on where's the cheapest place to buy this phone once it's released.

I work 2 minutes away from the Nokia Flagship store but never brought from them. Tax is such a pain in NYC amost 9% now.

It really depends what you are looking for..

With OVI Store coming out with the N97 release.. It will be more powerful than the Omnia HD I tell you that...

yeah and I can't wait so that I can make a decision on whether to get it or not. I just want to to be widely available so we can get some real world tests and opinions on the device.

I meant take off 16GB of flash memory which would bring the production cost of this phone down to put better hardware in.

128MB of ram isn't going to be enough for multitasking...5800 which has 128mb too only has around 50-60mb on startup doesn't it? Sigh.
