Yeah I want that on this too. They need to remake the layout and add autocorrect though:

I don't even know if it's possible to type accurately with fingers on that. Compare it to this:

The spacing is the key to making it easier to type on. I can type comfortably with one hand with little to no mistakes now.

The 3.5 inches of the N97 screen really gives enough room for a decent portrait qwerty but I think nokia is too lazy to implement it past the basic one they made.
 
1- No serious problems for me either
2- Very responsive. I honestly think the only advantage of a capacitive screen over this would be the glass screen and multi-touch
 
Nah man, we can't think like that, lol. In my head, the N96 was a failure because Nokia wasn't trying. I mean, why would you try, when in the lab next door, they were brainstorming about the newer N97? And the 5800... well, that was a test...? Lol, and Nokia took the results and went on to created the N97 :)

Btw, you heard the news? Nokia wants to launch itself into the laptop industry... (Which pushes me to think: Why would you try with the N97, when in the lab next door, they are brainstorming about the new laptop...)
 
I wouldn't doubt that Samsung would also attempt to provide good customer service, but the 2 Samsung devices we've had in my family were real crap. Neither made it past 6 months without numerous problems. Granted they were not top of the line..but I've had 4 Nokia devices in all price ranges without a single problem with any (fingers and legs crossed)..
 
T9's reputation does not fluctuate based on the vocabulary and spelling abilities of its users. There's no such things as poor T9 implementation, only poor usage of T9. :lol:
 
There will be...I for one won't be looking to make a profit..If I like it I'll keep it...if not I'll unload it for what I bought it for..altho I'd like a new device..it's really something that my N95 still does all I need in a cellphone
 
You either need the equipment and knowhow necessary to flash/reflash or Nokia needs to enable such through online updating. Reflashing sounds possible, but unlikely unless it's to fix a critical bug IMO.
 
so tempting.. im still waiting for my 5800's to come from dell, maybe i'll grab this too and wait as well. What color are you guys considering? White or black?
 
It's not MfE as far as security policies, it's the device. The E71 is a business class device and has support for the needed security policies while the N-series and 5800 don't. You install the same program on the N-series and E-series.

Now, the mail program that comes with the E75, and now the N97, is a new mail program with MfE support built in. The down side to this is that if the version isn't working you don't have the ability to download and install a different version to see if that works. While I really like the improvements that the new messaging client brings to the phones it really concerns me that the main function of a business class messaging device is broken to such an extent. This needs to be fixed ASAP. It's implementations like this that make people choose Blackberry over Nokia's E-series. Or, dare I say it, iPhone.
 
At least when you get through to someone on their support team, you can prove that you purchased this app and need it again. It's funny that all it does is show you what you've downloaded because the Ovi Store app on my E71 gives me an option to download anything there again.
 
Yeah he's a real clown and he definitely has his followers. It's sad though I have some friends who were so pro-microsoft that are now considering buying a Mac after using the iPhone. Then I have a friend asking me why I bought an iPhone when I use Microsoft for everything else.

They never get the point that the two sides are really different. There are lots of Mac users who use Nokia and can't stand the iPhone while some who use the iPhone don't care for a Mac.

Oh well, it's a good time for everyone to evaluate their options in general.
