*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

3D accelrationis done right now on Ngage, but if they did use they could do many more effects, making the game look better. So for more realitic games it can make a big dfference.

Damn you guys, and mostly SR.....................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................I cancelled my preorder. I'm gonna do the wait and see thing.

It looks like the angle in which the screen is tilted is not adjustable and this may be a little bit of a problem. On the E90 I always use it completely flat (completely open) since this offers me the best view of the screen. The position of the screen on the N97 may force us to tilt our hands forward to adjust to that.

I hope I'm wrong and I won't let this little perceived problem keep me from buying the most complete device in the market.

For some reason, I just can't see it that way. The haunting processor and RAM issue and my poor experience with the keyboard really cancels out any thought of it being a mini-laptop.

Just remembering when I paid $600+ for my N80, E70, N95, N95-3, N95-4, and probably more devices I don't remember makes me feel like $600 isn't that bad for all that you get. It's all the things you don't get that keep pushing me away from it.

Well tom tom did publicly say piracy was the reason for their exit from symbian. But maybe they got tired of having to support many different handsets/hardware? That doesn't really make sense though.

Just loaded up Global Race on my girlfriend's N85 to make sure I know what I'm talking about. Yep, it still lags like a MF. Played smoothly on the N95.

Edit: Do you think I'm talking about this without having owned these devices as well? I used FIVE different N95's and both the N85-1 APAC and N85-3 NAM over the past 3 years. The only one I didn't try is the N95-2, but that doesn't matter.

I'm very liberal too. I loved the sexual revolution and the good old days when Harry Reems and Linda Lovelace made some good movies together. :hehehe:

Ah ok. lol. No 3G available where you were at, then.

I notice in your second pic, you appear to be holding the phone sideways but the home screen didn't shift to landscape mode. Was this commong or was the picture rotated 90 degrees or something?

Fine, I know that. But on one of the other directions could there not be a secondary page? Could we as the user not choose to put things on the screen if we choose? Obviously I wouldn't put anything I don't want others to see on that screen.

I absolutely agree. I was incredibly happy with the overall speed performance of the e71. Owning the e61i before the e71, the upgrade in speed was incredible. At this point, I believe the e71 is the fastest Nokia phone I've ever laid my hands on.

Therefore, like Blaxx, I have absolutely no issues if the n97 performs at the same speed of the e71 or somewhere near that speed. =)

Mercedes and BMWs use model numbers.
Nokia uses model numbers.

American cars typically have names, mostly stupid.
American carrier phones typically have names, mostly stupid.

Model numbers are better.
