*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

Yes there is but the idea that AT&T is going to pick up this phone is speculation at this point. Even the idea that its the NAM version that passed through the FCC is unknown because both the EURO and NAM models have the 1900MHz bands (Euro is 900/1900/2100 and NAM is 850/1900/2100)

I don't know if it means anything..but the link to see order status on the nokiausa site is not working..maybe updating..maybe a momentary glitch?

I don't use Twitter like that at all. It's a way to 'blog' with a lower commitment threshold, and keep up with people without all of the stupid games and distractions of Facebook (I use Facebook too but not as often at all). Gravity also makes it infinitely more useful by allowing for multiple accounts (I have a personal Twitter and one for a podcast my husband I do), easily post pictures, and have static searches. For instance I have a search for 'N97'. :)

I want my phone to have some weight. And coming from E90, N97 is small :) 15mm is pretty far from thick phone imo especially with the 5mp and even more with the qwerty.

After seeing N97 gallery and web browsing working just as smooth as on iphone i got no worries about the speed. Suprisinly normal menu speed was slower on N97 than on tube, but that's most probally getting fixed for the actual selling product.

It's one yummy looking phone, but Nokia better release it at least before April.

I agree Apple has the best marketing strategy.. but you have to acknowledge their innovation. Look what they did from being a Mac company, they entered into entertainment segment with their iPods! Now from iPods to iPhones! But, they completely changed the way we use phones. Look at all other manufacturers(including Nokia) .. trying to catch-up by releasing many touch screen phones. But none of them are selling any where close to Apple's. That clearly shows how Apple is dominating!

Marketing won't work if there is no meat in the product! ;)

Didn't Ron Jeremy use the high end N95 when he was doing the reality show back a few years ago with Vanilla Ice and Tammy Baker in Las Vegas? I wonder how many other stars own high end Nokia phones?

actually nokia calls it "net settings" for newer phones and i think its a nokia app and not symbians. and yeah dogman please show us that. it should be in conectivity folder.

No unfortunately it does not. I don't know if it is the theme I am using but the whole thing just kind of goes black and freezes until you respond (this is the 5800). It is the antithesis of the Palm new discreet notifications push.

You HAVE to choose read or exit and then you can go on using the phone. But from anywhere if you didn't take the option to read the message (exit) you can double tap the menu button and tap the upper right hand corner of the home screen to read all your messages, e-mail, see missed calls, go into Bluetooth settings, check your current connections and see a digital version of the current time.

My point is that corner should be there in EVERY menu, submenu, applications or ANY screen except when your application is in full screen mode. That corner information thing is one of the best things about S60v5 and I'll give credit where it is due. Much better than anything I've used. But it should ALWAYS be a touch away.

Class 6 is 40x 6Mb/S, but it does not make a difference in the performance of the phone. It more depends on the phone then the memory card itself. On My 5800xm 16gb class2 worked faster then 16gb class4, simply because 16gb class2 had fewer songs and more free capacity available! N82 lagged badly on 16gb class4, but super fast on 8gb class 2.

It really depends on the device! Class6 is 30% more expensive then class4, I don't wanna pay more for a speed which is hardly noticeable.
