Oops!! I invited questions the day before I go on holiday for a fortnight! Sorry.
No issues at all. It's certainly a lot firmer than most shutter buttons but it's ok.
Had it since the end of June, so about 3 months. I really can't see the lens EVER scratching in the picture taking area because the lens cover is raised in that portion. Mine is scratched well above the picture taking area.
I'm not sure, never owned one. But it doesn't use the old email client, it uses the new Nokia Email service. Didn't like it, too unreliable. I've now purchased ProfiMail and couldn't be happier. By far the best email experience I've ever had with S60, wish I'd purchased it sooner.
Don't get much of it in the UK! Significantly better than the N85, but still pretty bad.

Some brief notes compared to previous phones I've owned (N95, N95 8GB, N85):
PROS:
- Great build quality. Heavy without being cumbersome, nice buttons (especiallly the menu and joypad buttons), non-slippy matt back cover.
- 8MP camera, haven't really done any comparisons yet but there are plenty of reviews out there.
- Landscape mode in camera. Press shutter button to start, phone then takes pictures automatically as you pan the camera. Takes up to 6 pictures (I think) then stitches them together automatically. If you don't want it to take that many just press the shutter button and it will stitch together what you have taken so far. Even shows you where to move the camera for the next picture, using gridlines. Works great most of the time, but 2 pictures had a little "hiccup".
- Scrolling using the joypad buttons get progressively faster, making web page browsing and list traversal a lot less painful. In fact, choosing a ringtone from 2000 music tracks just by scrolling through the list is now feasible.
- Inbuilt browser is nice & quick. I now use the inbuilt browser instead of Opera Mini, as the speed is comparable and the inbuilt browser has wider webpage support.
CONS:
- A number of bugs with the current v11 firmware, although nothing serious.

How often do you find yourself at an industry show or Nokia flagship store with the lights off?
As requested, here's a pic in the same no-light conditions using the N86, zoomed in to get closer to the N82's non-wide angle framing. Except it looks like I zoomed in a little too much. Whoops. Can't get over how GREEN the pic is, though. Like someone said, it definitely pales in comparison to xenon flash, but it's not as bad as I thought LEDs would be.

Hi im big cat im a noob and hope some of your more experienced readers could help me out.im interested in getting the nokia86 in the worst way you could possibly imagine[short of committing murder]. As for as I can tell none of my local retail stores are going to have this phone when it comes when I asked around[why?]...so im going to have to buy this phone online. Now for the embarrassing part . I never bought anything online in my entire life as I always went to a store when I needed to buy something. And I feel insecure about giveing out creditcard numbers online.I need advice as to the SAFEST MOST SECURE place that I could buy this phone without the fear haveing my account being broken into. Can some of your readers tell me some of the safest places to buy this phone. That has a good reputation. I thank you all in advance. B.C

IMO i8910/Pixon12 have a lot better camera overall, N86 has outdated camera features and due to hard to press shutter key, N86 sometimes take blurry pics.

I was looking at the images' EXIF data. None of the images I saw had flash enabled. Sometimes there's a yellow hue indoors with the N86 with flash on if taking a picture too close to an object. With it off, I don't see any yellow, but the pictures come out not as sharp.
He could edit the song file. The entire 3-4 minutes is not needed nor is a high bitrate on such poor speakers.

Well the euro does have better support from Nokia in terms of firmware updates (well not as a much anymore apparently).....and how does switching carriers make a difference to getting euro or nam.
From a canadian's point of view, we dont have any authorized Nokia resellers other than the carriers themselves....and their phones dont get firmware updates at all not to mention that theres only 3 S60 devices where 2 are FP1....so warranty is always a risk when we buy from third-party
hopefully the euro N86 will get a price drop once the nam model drops.

I'm sorry...please read my comments again. I said "the facts are these for ME". You may not find these to be your experience. The N82 is a camera for taking quick shots. I've used all Nokia N-series phones and so again for ME, it is the best. If the N82 takes the same picture as other N-series phones without flash and better than other N-series phones with flash, wouldn't you call that the best? I'm not saying the Xenon is everything, but it's nice to have rather than not.
I'm not going to debate you on a phone that's hasn't had any camera reviews yet. I believe it could be good, but I'm not convinced yet. You seem convinced that the N86 will be the best camera phone ever. I'm not disagreeing with you, I just need some proof.

Is the batter meter accurate on other n86's?
The first time it died it went from 6 bars to 1, then I shut it off and wouldn't go back on.
Then just now it went from 4 bars to 1. Maybe it will take a few cycles to get accurate?

I've been following this story for a while precisely because I'm scared of it happening to my N86. So far, nothing yet, but then again I've only had it for about 2 weeks. I'm thinking I'll put a screen protector over the lens and replace it regularly. Sigh. I really shouldn't have to, though.
