*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N86 8MP

yes you can follow it exactly even if it doesnt seem like it would make a difference, I've said v11 because thats what im still using (my phone does not give me the option for v20 still, but do it with v20 it should still work, although I would have expected Nokia to have fixed OTA v20):

1.Remember this will wipe your data!

2. Update the firmware again (v11) using your computer (Not on the phone over the air)

3.Once completed turn off the phone, and now perform a hard reset/3 button salute: Hold down * (star), 3 (three), and the green call button while turning the phone on.

Now my GPS works fine fix in seconds as it should be.

i was thinking about getting the n86. but who knows when its coming out. does anyone in here like their n85 since the price is down i really wanna know if its a good buy. i do text is it hard to text with the n85?

i have heard some people on this thread talking about they had to return the n85. other than the n86 and the n97 what n series phone is the best in all around quality. im going to NYC i can pick one of them from the flagship store.

actually i looked on the dell website its only $250 for the n85.

it seemes pretty cheap from the original price. i would love to get the n86 but the funds are low right now. switching from a bb curve to a nokia n85. would that be a good way to go ?

1 more ? why is the black n85 more than the copper one ? is it just the color or does one color have more problems with it.

thanks :buddies:

Anyone got their hands on a soft which can do call recording without beeps with N86 ? The only working app I found was Psiloc.VoxTrack.Personal . But after ver 20 update I am not able to install it. Total recall gives me beeps.

Also is there any soft to record fm radio? Total recall used to do that with N82 but does not work with N86.

Don't have OVI suite installed here...only PC Suite and I do everything I need to do with it.

OVI Suite has too much bloat and is a memory hog. PC Suite is perfect.

well on windows you have to right click the bluetooth icon and go to "recieve file" so only at that point the computer actively allows a inward connection. I think its a security thing, so I presume its the same for macs look for a receive mode. Not the same as discoverable.

I agree. I held a Euro version in my hands and was testing out the slider. The slide portion where the multimedia keys are, the phone was rubbing against the keys. It made abit of a grinding noise which concerns me.

why would they have to dim down the screen? for battery life? i dont buy that one either.

but yeah i am digging the white version of this phone.

Additionally, my rollerskates is WAY better than anybody else's rollerskates, and I will personally kick the crap outta any man who dares say otherwise just to prove my point
