*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N86 8MP

So tempting.. As we have the monthly meet up at the store tomorrow..

hmmnnn.. If the price is right..

EDIT: Hmmnnnnn...

Amazon sells it for $468.99 plus tax..

Flagship sells it for $499.00 plus tax.. Advantage: No need to wait for it to ship.

Yeah but the problem is they couldn't give an exact day for the N97/5800 launch in Europe either.
No matter how you try to slice it, it's always a mess with these guys.

I like the Apple way: "Hey guys today we're announcing this new product, and it will be available next week"
Thats it. No ifs or buts. You know next week you'll walk into a Store and it is there for you to buy it. ......Or heads will roll.

I miss the days of the N95 annoucement...back then it was truly something new and different (something to be excited about :) )! Now no one is excited about Nokia anymore, just bored and dissapointed 'cos Nokia re-sells their products over and over again (with "new" models)...

I know that this may be alot to say from a consumer that's not going to buy Nokia's expensive models but as and idea/consept/portfolio + genuine developement I EXPECT MORE. Nokia, It's time to move on. Period.

(end of the angry finns ramble lol)

That would definitely be a deal breaker for me. I'm glad I got the N95 again when I had the chance. If you owned the E71 how does the call quality compare to the E71?

i also used the multi media key on my n95-4 for the 5 contact shortcuts. so i just set that pane to open first and i had quick access to 5 additional speed dials. stupid nokia.

I've already sent my Pure back where it came from but I did make comparison shots. While noise levels on the Pure were low the photos came out kinda dark. Colors also are not as saturated. Under perfect conditions I think my Samsung Jet takes the better photos of the three.

yea browsing on the N97 is pretty good, better than any phone i've had except the iPhone 3GS and Palm Pre. However, doing anything else on it is damn near a PITA. they needed an optical track pad or d-pad on the front of it, perhaps between the end and call buttons. that would help alleviate alot of my frustrations as S60v5 just isn't ready for touch screens yet in my opinion.

I've seen posts in forums saying that a hard reset fixes the keytone issue. I'm still on v11 and I'm refusing to upgrade until the next update. V20 has complaints about far too many bugs.

Okay its not proper but using an App called "Brightlight" search Bright light s60 on google, its apparently on the App store but S60 5th will be filtered out for us so just google it. Even though its for 5th edition it still works.

Sometimes it doesnt work but close it with the right soft key and just open it again and it should work, it also does not shut off the light by itself so what I do is open and close the camera cover and it turns off.

If anyone knows of a better 3rd Edition version do say.

Hmm.. I just "migrated" to SE from a series of N-series phones (no pun)...

The C905a seems very well built. So did the N97 of course, but the C905a is much more polished, less buggy in so many other ways too. (A few quirks, but nothing like the N97 for instance...) A complete product, if you will, while Nokia keep releasing alpha-quality phones.

Yes the N95/N96/N85/N97 did a few more things that my C905a doesn't (not much though!), have larger screens and all that - but I am genuinely much more happy with this puppy than with the Nokias.

In my book, Nokia has quite a bit of "proving themselves" to do on the N9xx/Maemo devices before they win me back -- and I am definitely a Linux geek!
