I do not know your specific rights with Rogers. It would be wrong to accept a defective phone in my opinion. Probably better specific return info on Rogers is available somewhere besides this S60 forum.
In my experience with US cell companies, the first return usually resulted in them sending me a refurb of questionable quality.
 
Any idea if it is possible to set a certain app as the "default" app for one of the N86's functions? For example, if I receive a text message or email with a URL and select "Open URL", is there a way to make the phone open it in Opera Mini instead of Nokia's built-in browser?
 
True...it's much more vibrant...rich color saturation but noticeably more pixelated. I so wish for a high res AMOLED screen in a slider form factor.
 
No because that kills the strong brand recognition in a QUICK sweep move, and considering current device sales dropping - keeping the same lineup with NO upgrades marginal or not in hard economic times means you get gashed hard by competition with an open wound that doesn't heal for a LONG LONG time.

N95 - base
N95-2/4 - Page Demand built in N95-1 needed several firmware upgrades to get it.
N95-2/4 - both limited to 8GB which is becoming small VERY quickly and the thickness is HUGE and the design is looking VERY dated.
N85 - MicroUSB charging - costs Nokia less in charger production costs in the long run (N86 too), yes this MORE significant than you know. OLED display first in this lineup. 5MP camera that all N95's have but with Tessar lens and with a slider lens cover on ALL models.
N86 - same as N85 but you gotta look at developers page to REALLY see the difference. N85 had gaming keys too small for bighand users could enjoy. N86 has better performance.
 
gwapz and tym79m, thanks for some real respones at last! anyone else, thoughts on what interests them about the N86 other than the camera? (and why they would choose it over other high end phones.)
 
I'm not noticing the speed issues. My N86 feels snappy to me. I may not have as high standards as other people in this area. I got my NAM version from Adorama.

As I said above, I'm happy with the N86. Mainly I got it for the camera. I don't have a lot of bugs in v11. The spotty integrated GPS is a bit of a disappointment, but not the most important feature to me.

But the call quality issue, that I described above, is the one big problem for me. The N86 does not handle background noise well and just drives my callers crazy. As I said, this is not particular to the N86, but as far as I've seen is true of every N series slider and candy bar style phone for the last several years. I may return the phone over this. First and foremost, I need it to work well as a phone.
 
Sorry to point out the fact that your first statement is blown away by the fact that you mentioned an SE C905, Which just happens to be a slider?????
So you can put xenon in a slider.
 
The N97 isn't worth your time, so it's good that you decided to stay away.

I'm not too happy about the N86 situation, but I'll gladly wait for the true flagship. N97 is a lateral move just like an N85, N96, or N79...N86 is an upgrade-



Outside of a touchscreen and 32GB, what exactly would you be missing?

And am I the only one in here who is glad they kept the Xenon Flash out?
Otherwise they would've have to dim the screen down like they did with the N82. A bright screen is for me far more important than a Flash that i will seldom use. My $0.2
 
why do u want to turn off the shutter sound anyways????? Usually those are the creeps / chesters who take hidden pictures of underage gals at the mall!!! LOL
 
I feel like many of my shots are coming out blurry when they shouldn't be as well...I'm patiently waiting for V20 as it's supposed to help with image quality a lot, but I don't want to wait too long.

V20 still isn't available to NAM variants, though it was supposed to be last week as of my writing this.
