*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

Just unboxed my E71-2. Setting it all up. Everything seems fine except my "vibrate" function. I see under Settings--Gen--Personalization--Tones, I have vibrating alert set to ON.

No vibrate.

Do I have a bad phone?

Really hoping that someone gets it next week in retail....going away for the 2nd week of July and would love to bring this device along with me....I'm hoping for a reasonable price. I remember when the E61i was released the price was quite reasonable....For some reason E-series devices have always come out at a decent price vs the N-series....it takes awhile before N-series devices drop to a good price.

Apparently, we're it. Seems like they've taken to relying on passionate users like us to evangelize the brand. I'll bet the official marketing team is sitting on a beach somewhere, sipping a drink with a cute little umbrella in it, saying, "Oh, baby! Life is good!!" We're the only ones sweating the next Nokia release. :D

Ok, here is my pricing strategy  for Nokia for the ATT branded E71 in the US after reading this article: http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2008/...erage-purchase-price-of-handsets-on-the-rise/ It looks like the average price that the Americans are paying (or willing to pay  ) for smartphones is only $208.

Price before rebate: $308
Price after $100 rebate: $208
Must sign up with the rediculous PDA plan $30 a month to qualify for rebate (while Hofo members will choose the Medianet plan and still submit the rebates) :D

I am assuming that with the Yahoo plus you can get POP email, correct?

And you went to Yahoos site and made sure that you copied exactly what they said to put in?

Did you double check everything?

As per my link response to another thread you started.

See if you can disable all the GPS options except for Integrated GPS.

menu->tools->settings->General->Positioning->Positioning Methods.

Unless AT&T disabled some features, there should be 4 selections.

Bluetooth GPS
Assisted GPS
Integrated GPS
Network Based

Make sure the check mark is on Integrated GPS only and then retry Garmin.

I hear ya. In a perfect world it would be simply, "3G Earth". And where ever you went, you'd have 3G everything. Data, video calls, whatever. :buddies:

Cause I remember you saying that on the other thread N85 was it..

Saying something like goodbye Nokia if they don't release the E71, and jumping ship to the new iPhone..

Was just curious...

I thought you were one of the few celebrating Thank You Apple for the $199 iPhone.. :D

I'm wondering if its like on the BB (dial from homescreen On/OFF) it needs to be enabled from the Phone/Contacts app ?? Those on BB will recall dialing from homescreen if ON you cannot use your shortcuts from homescreen.

Is this the E71? God i hope not. I thought it had a 2.8 screen.

sweet, thanks for both replies

where is the best place to order the black version, no problems associated, e90?

i watched the bgr clip........hmmmmm must have missed it

So, what does it do instead?

I actually find that screen saver (what I showed as a pic of my E62) to be quite useful. Do they have screen saver applications to replace it, or something?
