*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

BTW, did anyone see that the E71 is going to support WMA naively? I wonder if that willl mean you can stream WMA data streams? I like the site: www.thestreamcenter.com but about 95% of the stations use a WMA stream. Im not much of a TV (sans sports) or movie guy, so watching video on a handheld is not very exciting for me, but I do enjoy radio (again, mostly for sports) and this would be nice to be able to keep up with the home team when I am out of town.

Thanks..

That E71 from rose is really tempting..

He's down to $510 now with $18 shipping..

plus 25% cash back totaling around $130 cash back..

end up paying $370 something when you get the cash back..

That E71 white looks soo much better on those official pics compared to those videos i have seen.
Black it is then...even if i try to stay away from these black phones :)
Damn that E66 white is probally one of the best looking phones ever imo, but got a get qwerty.

EDIT: Seems that others like it too because the shop i buy my phones already had over 200 orders for E71 today before i preordered mine... so i might have some extra wait even after it's released

Hi all,

Really sorry to be the bearer of BAD NEWS but WOM World so far haven't responded to my question of if the E71 will get BB support or not.

But another user krishiqua over @My Symbian had sent an E-Mail to Nokia about BB support on the E71 and this is the answer he has received.

"I hereby confirm to you that the Nokia E71 doesn't support the Blackberry application and that it will not be available in the future for this model."

So that seems to be the situation for those that were still wondering about it.

Marc

(well, more likely, I'll use it as a GSM/EDGE only device, with a T-Mobile prepaid, unless they come out with a T-MObile 3G version of the E71, in whicch case that's the device I'll get.. but, again, unlocked, unbranded, and no contract)

No rant from me. I want them both too...... but probably wont get the E71. Every time I think about ordering one, I look at my E51 just sitting here, doing nothing and knowing that my big hang up (mail) will not be as I really want it to be.

But I am enjoying you guys and your comments. Its always fun the first week or two of a release of a new phone. Its like Christmas in July!

Nokia has its own Mobile PVN Client, have you tried it? the one for S60 FP1 is much better than for the S60 FP0- only E90 and E51 are FP1 at the moment, hence if you used E61, not gonna be the same...
