*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

I agree, the white looks nice but Id worry about it getting dirty and ugly too. My gf is in the background saying "You wont keep it long enough to get dirty"... women! Grey for me!

Yup....updated to OS 4.5 and really liking the new layout. Just waiting for the E71 like everyone else now....see your still with Lord Rogers :D Is that the only GSM choice in Canada?

Well if that's true with FP2, than we may not see this phone for some time....Maybe in middle of Q3....

anyways, was just down at Nokia in NYC to return the E51 and they told me the store was closed for an event? Anybody have any idea what that might be? If the E71 doesn't come out for some time, I may just keep the E51...gotta have some kind of S60 device around ;)

Whats the trick to use the bank of america website? Cause on my n95 it lets me log in but there are no actual options to do anything with my account. It doesn't even show my balance or anything, nothing there.

I don't understand the keyboard layout comments. Looking at a real keyboard the e71 left side keys match up perfectly with a real keyboard, and the right side is staggered a little like a real keyboard. The blackberry keyboard is staggered opposite compared to a real keyboard. So to me the e71 is correct and the blackberry is opposite. What gives?

I'm wondering how they both look with the backlighting on....that white keyboard might be pretty bright compared to the grey one. I wonder which one is easier to read in the dark?

Oh, my, I apologize for inserting a valid question into the Seinfeld-71 thread.

Open Signed has nothing to do with hacking your phone. It signs apps with a developer certificate that allows you to install most any program, but only on one specific phone.

The second half of the question was answered by blips.

You gotta be kidding me right?!
With high density pixels and clarity in sunlight, just how much BIGGER should the screen be for a NON-touchscreen smartphone that is nOT a clamshell? And why any bigger?

You either may need glasses, or you Need that kind of screen real-estate because your apps are not laid out efficiently enough to show more information. Personal preference I guess. (and yes I've use S60 for a while so I know what small is ... remember the 6620's screen? that was the same size as my K850i and it was perfect in size back then.

Correct . Even the e65 got released soon after its announcement.

Still don't know whats keeping the beta testers from leaking some info. about the device.

I could not take the virtual keyboard on the TC. However it is a vary sweet device if you dont mind the lack of keyboard. Mine lasted a week. I need real keyboard or a better implementation of a touch screen keyboard. I think I might try the touch dual if the US version becomes available soon.
