I hope Nokia does well with the E71, but I take offense to the "stupid american" remark. You may consider yourself in that catagory, but I dont. One thing you need to understand is that every market is different, and thus different products differ by region. Every multinational automaker has known this for years, and thus develops and markets different automobiles for the needs and desires of the target market.
That being said, just because Europe or Asia has a different market structure and different requirements doesnt make the American market "stupid". If you know anything about economics or marketing you should understand that in the end the market will dictate to the manufacturer what is desired. It is not up to the manufacturer to determine what is needed.
You guys can love them or hate them, but Apple seems to be very in tune to this. The reason the iPhone and all the other idevices have been so popular is because Apple is good at developing products the market actually WANTS. It has nothing to do with what is superior on a technical basis.
This post is not in defense of any platform, OS, or device. My only point is, if you give the market what they want, you will have a sucdessful product.
Personally, I think nokia has a winner here, provided they team up with the carriers and get the chip off their shoulders. Wake up Nokia, marketing in the states is different that other parts of the world. Its not right or wrong, its just different.
