*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

None of the E71 versions will work with T-Mobile 3G (AWS 1700Mhz aka WCDMA band IV aka WCDMA 1700/2100).

Europe and Asia use band I (WCDMA 1900/2100) but it's called WCDMA 2100 for short. Some countries in Europe start using 900Mhz and Australia starts using 850Mhz.

BTW that E71 is super thin.

I can assure you that a NAM would be release though.. Cause I have seen one!

Just don't know when will it be available..

Told you guys already about that..

They will announce it then say it will be available immediately, then were going to wait weeks before the retailers gets it. Oh BTW I am talking about the EURO.

As for the NAM.. Who knows.. Maybe late July or early September with a price tag estimated $550 USD.

I just hope they have improved the voice quality on these device..

E61, E61i, E51 they were all very low.. Can barely hear the person that I was talking to even with the volume on max.

Post pics :clapping:

Congrats on your new phone......looks like people are finally getting stock although no mention yet of NAM version available anywhere yet. I'm hoping that I can find one before I go away on vacation next week.

You're serious?! I sold my AT&T Unlocked Q9h for $200CAN back in January. I paid $260 Unlocked (all software, accessories, and spare battery+cover). Nice phone, and video recording very smooth too ... just too arcane due to WMStandard. I expect the BB Bold width to be similar.

Holding out for an E71-2 as well, in Grey ... but spending cash is tight at the moment. I COULD trade my K850i with a fistful of dollars for an E51 though.

I have to agree, the leather case thing is much nicer then I thought it would be. Im actually using it to keep my phone in till I find something I can wear on my belt.

Yeah, it's very slow. I ditched it after a day. Using emoze now. It actually pushes POP, IMAP and webmail accounts a la BB BIS.

BTW, has anyone gotten Nokia Chat working? It never launches ....

Hello. Not sure if this topic has been talked about, but it's about FP2 on E71.

Coming from WinMo, I know that the OS is made up of several different things, SYS, drivers and the kernel, XIP.

As I am groping in the dark as this is my first time with Nokia firmware, I wonder if it is the same. Using NaviFirm there are many files you can download from NSU servers, such as core, rofs etc.

Is it possible to fuse the FP2 SYS files + kernel with the E71 drivers? What do you think? Anyone with an E71 WITH WARRANTY to test this? Mine is out of warranty and it's going to cost me lots of $$ to fix it.

Just asking only, please don't flame me!

See the variant packing list with an open mind! BTW just open them in wordpad
