*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

My company uses just good messaging. It installs fine.. while trying to sync the data it trows a message at the very end. It says.. The 'non compliant' security application not installed on your handheld. Install this app and try again. Not sure what that mean :befuddled

just decided to order one from plemix... will see how it goes. i am betting buy.com won't have theirs for a while-price difference is just too big...
just my .02 worth though..

From what I've seen from the pics it doesn't look like it has a rubbery feel to it. I hope the keyboard doesn't go below the standards of the E61i.

my phone is awesome, had it for about 6 months now..

but something wierd happened yesterday..

now when i recieve text message, SMS, the notification envelope icon is NOT coming up on my desktop or home screen...

is there a setting that changed on my phone that might have accidently switched?

my home page setting is active now.. but the SMS notification envelope is not coming up.. weird?

Interesting, with me it's always been nokia's with the issue. Even on startup I would get a phantom(empty)vm with a notification. Then sometimes an empty text with a real vm. There was a fix going around many moons ago which I tried, but even tho some said it worked I couldn't ever get it to. It had something to do with leaving yourself a message then putting your sim into another phone to clear the message, or something like that. It became a non issue for me. I think my e61i had it, my old n80 had it, and my 6270. Only on nokias tho.

CarlG & tkao> Are we talking of unlocked BB9000 w/o a plan.
I was quoting the price of 1G off CB discussion.
600-700 would make a potential buyer ( provided the money wanting a$$3$ in the Indian Telecom ministry don't shut down BB service)

I really hope it's gonna be like the E61i/E65 launch, the phones arrived at the distributor same morning as the launch and were available immediately, though in a small number.

E90 has 3D Graphics, and presumably the CPU is more powerful, but the E71 has faster CPU, but it aint that much...

the E90 can also record in video 30fps, and of course renders it in wide screen, whereas the E71 can only record at 15fps, and dang! the screen is smaller

if size matters to you, then E90 wins again! well, that is if you like huge things, whereas the E71 is absurdly thin! so if you like thin, E71 wins!

the E90 is about a year old, the E71 is not even a month old...

in the battery department. E71 wins coz of the smaller screen and a CPU that has better power management...

Just got an E71x and I was wondering if there's a way to synch up my address book and other data from my Palm tungsten thru my PC. I have been searching, but not really coming up with a solution. I have a ton of data backed up on my PC from the Palm and manually entering it all would take forever.

Thanks

Aren't a lot of the e series phones released very quickly? So when they announce the phone it would be out in the market within a few weeks, unlike n series phones. Is this true or not for some other e series phones?

I started the day at 8am fully charged and am using mailforexchange to sync as messages arrive. I have responded to 15-20 emails plus a similar amount of sms plus an hour of calls and at 5pm i was at 5 bars left. Since then i have put the screen to the brightest setting and have left the browser on in the background when not using it to help kill the battery faster. Still at 3 bars now.

I am on my 2nd full charge so battery is not fully conditioned yet. This is also using the phone in dual mode
