*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

I like this phone, but I feel the experience is the same as any other Nokia phone. Nothing that amazes me.

Though the earpiece quality is the best I've had in a while, and construction is nice, like the luna.

Features are plain old Nokia...

I just ran into a frustrating issue with my E71 where the auto-complete of contacts when you start typing in a name on the home page has stopped working. I.e. the type partial name, select call/text/email, etc functionality. I start typing in a name and.... nothing comes up. A friend was tinkering with the phone and I have no idea where to find an option for this. I rebooted the phone just for fun and no change.

No outage here, but yea, the only reason RIM is still up there for corporate users is because of the number of policies BES can be defined for, not the same for exchange (told to me from a veteran user of both the systems). The new exchange service planned by MS may step things up a bit, but the main advantage is that exchange can be run on soo many different platforms with ease, and I have to say, BB-Connect isnt the most stellar competitor. It just makes you want to move to a BB itself (I did that) and BB-Connect is horrible with attachment handling and you cant send any attachments as well. So yea, RIM have stepped it up with their new design of the Bold, and they are playing the competition right.

Jst my $0.02

Honestly, the metal back on my E51 feels cheap and tinny, and creaks in my hand when I use it. My BB8800 feels very solid.
The one truly communications related feature I wish BB would include in the OS is a tightly integrated VoIP client. The S60 one is fantastic.

@friedbrains

Yeah my Mocha E90 does as well but the keyboard is solid with no movement in it, on the E71 the whole top row had a lot of movement and flex in it.

I've got a Black E90 on it's way to me soon to compare it with my Mocha and see if the changes are just cosmetic plus of course i want to see how the new keyboard is.

Before i packed the E71 i did send the .swf screen savers to my E90 as am currently using the Dots Grey theme and using the Steel for Power saving mode looks great.
