*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

Yeah, but someone said that GPS dosent show on those xhtml pages as dont camera specs. And wasent GPS ment to be in every coming E and N series device? So i would think that GPS is there...thought leaving FP2 out would be a shame.

the Cool thing is there is a Firmware application (My-Symbian.com touched on this briefly) that when you active it amongst 5 prompts via USB connection IT'll configure a PC to install an app for tethering; no PC Suite required - app is from the E66/E71 directly.

@ritz; Congratulations on your newborn! Hoping the lil one is healthy, both you and your wife is happy, and don't worry that lack of sleep is ALL worth it!!

It wont let me edit my last post, so I am gonna have to make another one.

I was looking into some bluetooth headphones. Either the nokia bh-503 or the samsung sbh500. Will they both pair with the e71? Also, will the sound be true stereo sound, or will they just split a mono sound into the speakers for each ear?

The big attraction for Blackberry has always been the instant push email, even for those of us not on an Exchange Server. It was just darn convenient and addictive to get your email constantly. Plus, RIM's reputation was for bullet-proof service. Sadly for RIM, they've experienced a lot of outages in service lately, from hours to days in duration. They're simply not as reliable as we had begun to believe, and the frequency of these outages is on the rise!

Ummmm that screen looks ultra small on the E71....is it just the angle it was taken at? I guess as long as it's as big as my Blackberry Curve, I'm fine with it.........Now if we could just get a release or possible release date please :D

Hi all,

Well my time with the E71 is now over and it has gone back in it's box and it will not be joining or replacing the E90.

Now don't get me wrong it is a great business device and a worthy successor to the E61 but an E90 beater it isn't.

I really have had no issues with it other than it won't play H.264 Video @23fps and although it does at 15fps this of course results in it being choppy. But it will play H.263 @23fps perfectly and due to the screen size this is still great quality although personally i wouldn't watch anything over 30 mins.

I have just tried out the Music player and the volume and quality of sound is good with my 256kbps AAC tracks and that was even using the supplied headset. I would imagine using your own set with an adapter will produce even better sound.

My one and only compliant with the E71 is something that it took someone else to point out the top of the Keyboard is not flush to the screen. Their is a small gap all the way along the top of it which leaks light but worse IMO will let dust and dirt into the E71.

Could other E71 users confirm theirs are the same or not?

Hi all,

Well i used the Camera today for the first time and i really like it as you press the T key to auto focus and then press the D-Pad when you want to take the picture and it will stay in Focus for quite a while until you decide to take the picture. I also really don't think the Camera sucks at all far from it is MO but judge for your selves as i am just about to post the Pictures in my review thread.

Well I live in the US.. I guess I can say better than nothing..

I will mostly use the device for work anyways.. Which involved alot of emailing and PDF editing..

My bet is on the E71 offered for sale before BB9000.
( And BB9000 is going to be way to expensive for me , if it retails at expected price of US 1000 +, which leaves me with the only option of waiting for E71. )
