*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

the replacement is the slow breathing indicator light for missed calls and texts in the Dpad center ring. not sure about the clock though...

The folks here that are whining the loudest are those who are clinging desperately to their Hummer H2's and Suburbans...

You don't see those much across the pond, do you?

Back on topic though...I came dangerously close to pulling the trigger on a N95-4 locally yesterday, but thankfully realized that what I hated about the N95-1 had not been fixed on the "-4"...and that I would dearly miss a qwerty keyboard almost overnight. So...

...guess I'm patiently waiting for the E71 to drop (if it ever does...) like everybody else. :(

I, for one...cannot get over that this thread started in January 2008, and 1477 posts and over 6-months later...the E71 has yet to be released. Simply amazing!!

You think Apple can generate hype...??

I'm not complaining, quite the contrary. I enjoy the exclusivity that comes from being one of the few with a really quality, fully multi-functional device.
And smiling all along the way :2thumbs:

Never had a problem with it on any HTC devices with the side-slide keyboards, but the buttons are a bit bigger.

I'm a QWERTY user from back on the original Treo 180, so I REALLY have a preference for that sort of form-factor. I think the block style allows for slightly larger "keys" which should offset any problems with them not being staggered. Besides, it's just a matter of getting used to it.

On a side note, I think we need E71 avatars soon. :D

extremely random question.

has anyone use a 3-ring 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter on the e71 with iphone-compat headphones? just want to see if the mic/button works through the adapter.

what conference you were at because i am sure if there is a nokia conference where they will be displaying the latest phones then alot of people here will be knowing about i personally did not hear anything about it

rest whatever you wrote in your post is nothing new and i think every one knows about and alos people have did the detailed review too for the phone

could you clarify on this point?

are we given more freedom for what we can do on symbian?

i know i did have to do some hacking to get these unsigned apps onto symbian. there also seems to be a dearth of good apps.

At least while running M4E, you can't file emails. As far as I could tell, you have to leave them in your inbox and file them on your desktop app. I hate handling messages twice. This is one area where the BB really shines.

Funny thing is Ive had this happen on a few of my unlocked phones, none of which were Nokias. I dont get this with my N82 and didnt with my N95 either. And I never did figure out how to stop it, I just ended up getting a new phone. So I dont think its even related to Nokia.
