*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

There is probably a good chance, otherwise why would nokia make a 850/1900 3G version, if they were not going to hawk it to ATT or TMobile or both. It would make sense that the E71 would replace the E62 in the ATT stores. Currently ATT carries the iPhone, several berries and the E62, so it would make just as much sense that they would carry the 3G iPhone, the BB Bold and the E71.

I haven't done this that many times, so wouldn't really know, but I would've thought that the stock firmwares should be already available so people could re-flash if something was wrong with shipped one. Hopefully it is just a temp problem on Nokia's server side.

I don't really know. All I know is that i chedk two gmail accounts (imap), my school account (imap), work account (exchange) and all of my sms's and they all have separate inboxes.

I was driving on the highway, windows a bit opened, and volume was on half (I dont have sensitive ears) and I could hear the other party loud and clear. RF and earpiece on this thing is quite frankly, very good.

You should consider these things before you buy a phone with Asian firmware. The only way to do it is by changing the product/country code on the phone and flashing that firmware using Nokia PC Suite. You would need the Nemesis Service Suite to change the code (google for it). There's always a risk in doing this, you could brick your phone. I've done it a few times and never had issues but you never know. Hopefully the firmware is also available, though it should be, as long as the phone is on sale in that region.

Here's a Euro code that has English/French etc. (looks like it could be the EURO-1)

In all honesty though, you should've waited for the NAM version imo (unless you travel a lot to Europe/Asia or planning to move etc.) I personally prefer using EDGE here because of battery life (my phone is constantly connected to im+ and skype and 99% of my calls are over voip wifi), and by the time I might have needs for 3G, I'd probably be back in Europe.

S60 doesn't have any sort of MRU setup...they're user definable period. As opposed to Wundows Mobile, which is MRU, period, and has no way to user-define them. :)

I wish one of these companies would get the message that some people might like to be able to choose one or the other, and some other people might want a combination of the two (like set two of the slots for the most recently used apps or something).

Time and again, I've come to realize, T9 is awesome for texts, but for some reason, I prefer QWERTY for long emails (plus I use more than one language).

The buttons on the E71 look soft, like the E90 (which had an AWESOME qwerty, infact one of the best I ever used) and I really like the BB form (I loved the BB 8320) so the E71 seems like the perfect marriage of the two, plus the S60 awesomeness :2thumbs:

+1 more to sticking with old firmware. Don't have big enough issues, and not enough reports of dramatic performance increase to justify updating for me.

Mmmm..my salivary glands are working overtime in anticipation of this phone. I really hope it drops in the next month. (preferably next week!) Hopefully $500 or less, otherwise my SO might object and make me wait for AT&T's version..if it ever appears.
