*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia 6650 (RM-324 6650d-1bH) NAM 3G 850/1900

Actually, I don't think it can view PDF/Word/Excel/PowerPoint files... the UK version did, but I tried opening a PDF file today and it wouldn't work... Do you need to open it using some program or something?... I looked in the manual and don't see anything about viewing PDF files, etc... Am I missing something?... Did AT&T cripple the phone?... If it doesn't have the program now, is there something I can download that'll allow me to read those files?... PLEASE HELP!

I just got my AT&T bill and on there was an upgrade charge for $18(!)... that's stupid(!)... they charge you a fee to take your sim card out of one phone and put it in another(!)... SO I guess you can add that $18 charge onto the cost of the phone which makes it more like $90 after mail in rebate(!)... that's stoopid... give me an unlocked phone anyday... (BTW they reversed the charge since I canceled my upgrade)

Has anyone figured out how to successfully install Nokia Maps 2.0 on to their 6650? I downloaded the install file from the Nokia USA site but when I try to install it on the phone, it says to install some base package first..

Ok. Search is giving me an error on howard today but I found that for fp1 and fp2 Nokia's call log only displays one icon (mobile) regardless of what number was dialed or received. It seems Nokia does not call this a "bug" in their software but this is a big deal for me as most of my contacts have multiple numbers.

Are there any applications (free or paid) that can replace the built in call log? If no, I'm afraid this is a show stopper for me. It's funny that my e61 displayed the correct icon and I assumed it was an issue with a theme I added recently...

Who needs wifi if you've got 3G? I use my wifi once in a blue moon. I mean its nice to have, but am i NOT going to buy a phone if it doesnt have it? HELL to the no.

plus if it had wifi, it would be more expensive. this thing is 70 bucks!

Does anyone have or know where I can download a signed copy of MagicKey? It doesn't work through Symbian Signed.

EDIT: Sorry for double-post.

Bump...

BTW, What if I take an AT&T 6650 to a country like Jamaica o Dominican republic, where they have 3G with Videocall, does the 6650 will support that?

Hi, I'm a 13 year-old who needs to sync his calendar and use email, so I want this phone since it is a semi-smartphone. (No Exchange) I know I cannot use MobileMe since it is not POP3, but I have three questions:
1. Can I sync with iCal?
2. Is there any app to download to do email other than the crappy at&t Mobile Email and possibly use my MobileMe?
3. Is this a good phone for me?

not sure if you guys tried this but i got nokia messaging onto my coworkers phone by just putting in that he has a e71 on the nokia website, works flawlessly

Just downloaded it using the included browser and did not have this issue, but I did encounter it when I downloaded Calcium. I could see the download popup briefly flash on the screen and then disappear. I had to go into the download directory and find the .sis file and do the install from there. Might want to check that directory because it is probably quite full if that is the issue you are having.

Yeah I was thinking of the N78 too but I've heard too much bad stuff about that phone so I figured the N79 would be everything the N78 should've been for $100 more... Believe me, I don't wanna spend the money but I can't take this carrier branded crap...

I had problems with the magnetic sensor too. Finding a decent belt case for this phone has been difficult. Most of the nicer cases are magnetic. Most of the universal cases don't hold the phone very well at all.
I did find a case at Walmart which has a snap closure and is close to a perfect fit. The logo on it says "Rugged Equipment", and it has a heavy duty metal clip and latching mechanism.
