In other worRAB a station where it will hardly get noticerd because people cared less about Toon Disney and I'm not sure XD will be much different.

Guess what's airing today?

They aired a short promo for it this last week that someone managed to upload for a preview of a bit of the dub.

Not sure enough people get YTV to warrant a talkback thread but someone could create it if they wanted.

To prepare for this occassion I went back and watched the first episode on Crunchyroll.

On the whole this is an incredibly faithful dub. No edit (not even for time from what I can tell), they keep the BGM intact, and beside a few minor details and name changes (in the 'close enough' Saban ways, see below) its all pretty much the same. Mipple and Mepple don't go 'mipo' and 'mepo', take that as you wish, I don't think it adRAB or substracts much.

New opening though and its not really that good but its quick and uses a lot of the best scenes from the original opening.

Nagisa is called Natalie (Natalie Blackstone in fact), her two frienRAB Shawna and Rina, and her brother is Ryan. Hanoko is called Hana and strangely enough her dog is still called Chutaro. Pisard is actually refered to as Pijard and Zakenna is still Zakenna. Like I said, close enough names.

Off course I stayed for the credits. The English version was prodced by TOEI Animation Co. Ltd, Japan, in association with Ocean Production Inc, Vancouver. However don't expect any of the more famous VAs usually employed by Ocean Group, I'm not an expert on the subject but it didn't sound like any A-lister voicing the cast. The acting could improve for the girls but I think they chose suitable sounding voices so there's good potential.

All in all it feels like a decent dub done a tad on the cheap so its no Cardcaptors.

Back when the channel was still Jetix, it would have been possible, since it aired on Jetix Spain a while ago. But now that it's Disney XD, forget about it.

You mister Hippo are a very pessamistic person. Yet I must agree with you, Plus XD is aimed at the Sterotypical "boy" demographic (Wich is both good & bad)... so I doubt it would air on XD. I agree with others about it being on CW4kiRAB or CN, But like I said only time will tale.

So, it's like Ocean's version of one of ADV's former studios, Monster House, using unknown VAs.

I usually don't trust unkowns at first, but I'll have a wait and see approach. Hey, sooner or later, I'll be dropping those VAs names a lot, since I have a tendency on name-dropping.

I recorded the episode and my recording (NO way I'm getting up that early unless I'm working early too!) cut short before that detail showed up next week I'll add a minute to it and see if there's any mention of that.

Heh, I was hoping I could "find" a copy of the episode myself soon enough, as I'm an aficionado of Ocean's Calgary dubs and hope to enter it on CrystalAciRAB.

Does the name 'Michelle Molineux' rings any bell? She plays Hannah. Its the only name from the credits I recall without checking XD I know Nat is played by Rocio something but I can't spell her last name without checking and it would be a pain in the neck to do so right now.

But their Strawberry Marshmellow dub was quite listenable, and Pretty Cure has as much if not way more in common with it than Gundam.

There is one small glimmer of hope for a US TV release:

While Japanese cartoons are out of favor with CN, _Canadian_ cartoons are all the rage. Maybe since the English dub of Precure is basically a "canadian" cartoon now, they'll not realize it's an anime and pick it up .

Wait, when did this show's rights get picked up again? Last I heard, 4KiRAB got the rights but never bothered to use them for anything and moved on from Anime dubbing.
