I saw these receivers going for $35 on E-Bay and there was a bid for them for free too.

I'm almost wondering if I should rent this thing seeing as it's only $2.50 a month, I just bought it however.

Is there any new changes with the software yet?

PS Do they charge existing subs regular price to rent these receivers?

hey new here, i just got a 4100 rec and can't control volume. have a panasonic dvd/cd home theater system going to a samsung plasma tv. have to change channels through 4100 remote and volume through pany remote, have got t.v. coded through rec but want vol control through rec not t.v. what's next. thanks in advance!

We've had our ExpressVu 4100 for about a month. The tech set it up and set the remote to work our Toshiba VCR combo and it was working great from the ExpressVu remote for about a week. Now the remote won't work and won't reset and the original TV remote won't work either. So we can't work the sound for the TV or program the VCR, etc from either remote now. Worked fine until we got ExpressVu. Of course, when I call Bell ExpressVu, they claim it must just be a coincidence that our Toshiba remote sensor is no longer working. This isn't a very old TV, maybe 3 yrs old.

Just wondering if anyone has ever had this type of thing happen or heard of it or know if it is possible for the ExV. remote to screw up the Toshiba? Any ideas on how to fix it?

"stick the ir receiver"? Do you mean that you have an IR emitter, aka a "flasher" similar to this?

If so, I had that working with a Crestron system driving a 4100 for audio. I've since swapped in an old 4700 for the audio so I can't go look and see exactly where I stuck the emitter, but the usual trick is to get a flashlight and shine it through the faceplate. You'll usually see some stuff that looks like little LED bulbs on the inside somewhere - that's almost always what you want the emitter over.

Hi,

Does anyone know where the exact location is of the remote IR sensor window on the 4100?

I want to use my 4100 with my media center pc. I need to attach the remote IR cable from my pc to the IR sensor on the 4100. My PC won't be able to change the channels on the 4100 without it.

Thanks in advance,
MT

I think you need to be much more specific.

What device are you trying to control with what remote?

Have you reviewed the owners manual for codes?

The only thing that is not really good is the one line of rg59 but otherwise all the other cable is fine.

You could use that Spacelab multiswitch to feed all 3 receivers and not use the Bell dish at all.

If the problem has always been at the same point it should be easy to tell which feed it is coming from but I think from your posts that the problems are/were at all or most locations so unless the problem locations were common back to that Spacelab switch I am stumped.

Replacing the switch would only be about $10. Or try moving the cables onto different outputs..

I hooked S-Video up and the picture still seems pretty soft to me.

Plus, I can't control the anything on my TV set, including the volume.

And the IPG is horrrible!

One BIG gripe!! You can only have ONE reminder per time slot!!!

With my cable, I could set 2 or 3 reminders for the same time slot when I wasn' sure which show I wanted to watch, and it would remind me 1 to 15 minutes early, depending upon how long I set it for, and then I could select from any of the shows right up until the were finished.

This is could be a deal breaker for me!

Arrrrrrrrrrggghhh!

I have a 6100 and 4100 in my home. I can't get the audio to work for the HD channels on my 4100?

any ideas?

thanks

I recently attempted to use a TIVO with my 4100 - everything seemed to work well except for channel changing. IR blaster appeared to be in the right location - channel would change, but typically to 100 or 104. Have tried selecting both "Expressvu" and "Echostar" during set-up, with similar results. Has anyone had any luck with a particular receiver code? Many thanks...

i want to know how i can play my gamecube on my 4100, if you can, can you please give me a step by step

Just hook up the gamecube to a different video input on your tv. There is no input for other devices on the 4100 except for your ota antenna / cable pass through . Am I missing something here ?

Just got a 4100 last weekend. After installing it we have noticed the unit is out of synch. The audio is about 15 frames to 1 seconds behind video. Checked our PVR and seem to have similar problems there as well. Asnyone had experience with sych problems? I spoke to BEV, they had me unplug and reset the units. Doesn't seem to work though.

can somone tell me if dolby pro logic 2 should work with shows that are in stereo sound hooked up to my 4100 reciever threw an optical audio out,I no it is supposed to change stereo sound to surround but when im watching shows that are in stereo and turn on pro logic 2 the back two speakers are really scrambley ,its like the main voices are not being fully blocked out when there supposed to be,and the PL2 works fine when watching dvds or cds,so im trying to determine if its the home theater system or the 4100 itself cause the warrenty is up soon on it ,any help would be great !! thanks

I am having problems dumping the memory and resetting password to 1234. see my topic http://www.digitalhomecanada.com/forum/showthread.php?t=45129

This review is based on my previous experience with the 3100.

Pro's:
-quicker channel changes
-the error windows that I would get when changing channels are now gone
-it's now very easy to block unwanted channels
-hasn't crashed yet
-remote has iTV button

Con's:

-some times when you tune into a channels you'll get no sound for a few seconds and garbled video
-the guide still needs to be downloaded when accessed
-channel changes are still too slow

BTW, it would be nice if you could have text/e-mail messages sent to you like you can with some European digital satellite receivers

Hello: I have recently had a whole dish system installed one month ago with 3 receivers.. one 3100, one 4100 and one 6100hd. I don't know if this problem is "whole system" related or not, but I was watching my 53" with the 4100 when it happened. I was watching a show on 389 Wild t.v.yesterday about a show on four wheelers, and they had the whole setup, mud racing, pulling, free rides on new vehicles....anyways, when the camera panned from left to right, everything was a blurr! Is this a common problem with satellite and what's the proper term called? I also am getting some "stuttering " and audio "drop-outs". Maybe I noticed the blurry picture more because I was watching on a big screen? I packed in digital cable for all this!$%^%^ Thanks,Huck :>o

Does anyone know what the universal remote control code is for the 4100. I tried all the codes but none seem to work. So now I need to enter the sat remote code into the tv remote. Quite a pain! Any help would be greatly appreciated>
