Firmware updates are never instantly available for everyone. They add ranges (or bunches) of serial numbers in increments until all are in the list to obtain the update. It may take a day or two until yours is updated. Best thing to do is keep both tuners off when it is not in use and it will take the update when its serial number is in the list to obtain it. Currently I see that v104 and v107 are both still in the stream meaning some are meant to take v104. I suppose from what you've been saying, when you reach level 2 support they are able to add your specific receiver # to the list to force the download.

WOW they actually made you this offer? I would have been happy about just getting two 3100's. I seem to think they want to give you a 4700 because it uses a UHF remote so you have one with UHF remote and one without just like a 3200. Plus a 2 month credit...

Let me give you some legal advice.... don't bother going to court over this.... you will NOT WIN! This is a very fair compromise... and the Judge will rule in there favor. They had technical problems with the 3200's and this is a very fair resolution. How you wired your place is not there fault that you plastered a splitter into the wall.

Well I dumped the memory and the search function now works. I've got a "G" version IRD, so maybe that's got something to do with the way it's been working. I've retested the caller ID and it look's like it's trying to work now... On a local incoming call I get "an out of area" pop-up message on the screen now and I still get nothing with an long distance call. My phone line is set up to ring differently with an incoming long distance call, so I'm guessing that the funny ring pattern is screwing up the caller ID function on the IRD. Also noticed that it can take up to 3 rings before the pop-up appears on a local call.

I have it turn on during the day, I set a program for earlier in the day, on a channel that I dont' watch so the dish turns on, then it will automatically change channels to what I want to record and sound will come back

Yes, I am missing CNN (500) Fox (290) and several others, including SN 406 and 408 and Eastern feeds. I have installed the dish in Phoenix, and in speaking with other subs, they have encountered the same problem. Certain tranponders cannot be picked up here for some reason.

Hey I'm kinda new to the forum thing, mostly because i've never had difficulties with my BEV hardware before, up until now. Here's my situation:

I recently moved from an apartment that had attached to it a single double LNBF dish. I had two RG6 wires coming into the 3200 receiver it worked flawlessly.

At my new house i'm using a different dish but still the same type of LNBF with two RG6 wires leading to the 3200 receiver. The receiver has now decided not to recognize a signal by simply plugging both wires into the receiver.

It only recognizes a signal if, (this really blows me away), on one cable i add a cheap 1GHz 2-way splitter and have a 2 foot piece attached to input one or two doesn't matter, and the second wire attached to the open input.

The signal is great for both Inputs, however, only the odd transponders work for the split wire, but they all work for the other inout that hasn't been split. I have no wires coming off of the second open split. If i split one wire and use both outputs and attach to both inputs it still won't work.

Does anyone have any suggestions, i'm tapped out, it seems too bizarre for me. In fact if i attach one of the single wires directly to a 3100 without a split it won't recognize a signal, but split it once and the signal will work.

I have still been having audio problems intermittently, of course these are dificult to diagnose, but after a few weeks of testing here is my problem: When the feed is switched, for example recording on fox and they switch the feed to global, I lose the audio, this ONLY happens on channels that are already tuned and the feed is switched by BEV.
First call response was reset receiver to default settings, hopefully this will work. I'm still at V107 for my firmware, the tech said that my machine was probably stuck there.
Any lemon laws covering receivers?

bixlorr.........have you tried to get Picture-in-Picture (PIP) to work? Seems one has to put the 3200 into single mode but I have not been able to figure out how to do this.

In my experience, the 3200 caller ID (or any expressvu caller id for that matter) will not work with these distinctive ring devices

I also have distinctive ring, and had one of those boxes on the line, that could be set to allow only one type of ring thru. When the Expressvu receivers were the down side of that, and when the call was coming in with the regular/usual one ring tone - then the caller id would not work.

Took the filter box out, no prob

I havent received long distance calls while I have been watching on the 3200, but local area code calls show up with name and number, and my local area code cell-phone shows up as British Columbia, wiht my cell #

I have both caller ID and visual call waiting (not sufre if relevant)

thanks for the note. I'm new to this stuff. I don't really need 2 TV service, but bought the 3200 because it was the same price as the 3100.

What's the true problem with the 3200. Will I notice?

Update - I just called Bell and they say that they don't sell the 3200 anymore and have recalled the units......? What's up?

You will have to get rid of that receiver.
If you want to be safe don't buy any Dish Network receiver.
None of the cardless ones will work and it's very hard to activate the carded ones.
Chances are this receiver has Dishnet firmware which cannot be erased by anyone of us. The slot on it is disabled. It will not read any card from it.

I've been testing it with my cell phone as well, but it's not a local number and it never shows up on the screen. It shows up on the phone as unknown caller with the phone number. I will keep testing it out...

As for other recievers, my 6100 works perfectly with local and long distance calls with distinctive ring.

JEYMAN, Have you run the check switch on the 3200 after installing the two RG6 cables at your new house? This may need to be done on the 3100 as well for the receiver to recognize the type of LNB. If this still doesn't correct the problem, then the LNB may be defective. If you have the old LNB from your apartment, try replacing it.

Great forums here and thanks for posting helpful infos and experience.
I am a new kid in ExpressVu and was attracted by the Bell World 50% off Big Store-Wide Sale.

3200 is now priced at $99 in some of the Bell stores in Toronto.
The multi-room feature is definitely the best choice to switch from Rogers.
Very tempted, but a bit worry after reading so many issues with the softwares.
Can you 3200 owners live with these problems ?

I have actually got the 3120 + 3100 remanufactured receiver for a couple of days, still in box. Might return them and get a 3200.
TIA for any inputs.

With all due resepct this is why I reposted the message.
I have a 2700 two 4100 one 3100 and one 3200 when I say they wiped my programming I mean wiped all they shut down all my receivers all my programming everything that is why when the tech called back (and He called Me) he knew it had the new v107 and only then did he reprogram all my systems.
When I first called that morning I asked for a senior tech they asked me to verify the normal stuff and then they said "Oh it must be about your your update, your receiver did not take the new version?" I said "Yes " they said "Hold on" and I was talking to a senior tech he started by giveing me an number and if at any time I needed help call and give the party on the other end the number and that would get me through to him.
I have been anoyed with the hardware (3200) but not the people I have never found anyone that was disresepctfull in any way, It might be because I speak to them how I would want to be spoken to.
I have never met the two beavers you speak about, but if that is how you conduct yourself on the phone I think it would be worth my job to tell you to shove your 3200 up your........ but that another story, you asked me the question "HOW DID YOU GET 107 TO DOWNLOAD?"
IT TELLS YOU RIGHT ON THE POST ABOVE WHERE YOU ASKED THE QUESTION
Have a nice day.
