Nokia 5800 XM NAM(850/1900): Reviews, Issues, Tips, Tricks & Support Thread!!

I'm waiting to hear if it's stable or buggy before I debrand and flash. No updates here since v21.

Update: helloox2 says people are reporting v40 is unhackable. Definite fail on V40 then. I like my phone hot-rodded the way it is.

How do I do that? Under Settings, Personal, Home Screen, E-mail notification I tried setting up a couple of mailboxes with Visibility and Show Message details on. I do not get any notifications in the horizontal bar.

Unfortunately that's somewhat a bug of s60 thats been there forever. There was a sort of hack to do that could hide them, but i don't remember what it is and i don't think it was all that easy.

Wirelessly posted (nokia 5800: Mozilla/5.0 (SymbianOS/9.4; U; Series60/5.0 Nokia5800d-1b/21.2.025; Profile/MIDP-2.1 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 ) AppleWebKit/413 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/413)

i'm not even sure i want cap touch anymore - the 5800 screen is too small to use full qwerty on if i can't use my fingernails. Multitouch is ok, but i'd prefer they work on the important stuff that works with resist touch, like kinetic scroll throughout the os. Symbian ^2 can't come soon enough.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but when you set up an event in the calendar, you can set a alarm, and than cen be set to any date, so you could potentially set that to a week earlier.

HoFo gang--I was going to post this in the Opera beta 10 thread..but did over here....Is there a noticable difference from beta 10 from beta 5..?? I have and do use the beta 5 version..have no issues with it. Im reading these "out of memory" posts..Who put this on their 5800 ? Any pro's/cons..from what Im gathering..I should leave my beta 5 opera mini. Whatta u think  ....Tom

This is a Rogers branded firmware! I didn't even know they were launching this phone. Strange that they get the update before the generic NAM US code. Regardless, wouldn't touch their firmware... always crippled in some way.

Hopefully the generic isn't far behind.
