Nokia 5800 XM NAM(850/1900): Reviews, Issues, Tips, Tricks & Support Thread!!

from me testing it, the speakers doesn't sound lower. it's the same or higher. it feels to me like they lowered the bass output some, and increased the trebel. still have bass, just not a lot like before where it starts crackling though.

Dont feel too bad, man. I have 8.2mb free on my phone memory remaining and I constantly have to clear my cache just to prevent a meltdown on the phone.... Of course, i have everything installed on my PHONE MEM but thats always how i've done it. Sucks. I may have to break down and reformat / reinstall everything.

Booooo!

Good to know. I haven't taken my 5800 to the gym/jogging yet. Afraid of dropping it I guess. Do you hold it in your hand while you run or do you have an armband for it?

Hey Thanks folks!!!!

Finally 'got it'. It's too bad that's the only solution though. It's a little tough on the finger pads having to switch pressure gradients from the sensitivity of typing on the screen, to the hard depression of the physical button.

Oh well., one button sorted out.

Now about that darn double clicking :(.

Actually i just removed handy shell yesterday cause i thought it might be draining the battery. So far it seems a decent amount better. I have only used the phone with handy shell since day one.

Their desktop software is complete and utter garbage.

Nokia doesn't seem to want to release v50 for most NAM units despite having had NAM firmware for months now.

I changed my product code and Ovi suite kept telling me:
1. There were no updates for my phone
2. It was having issues connecting to Nokia

OTA didn't work.

So I installed NSU and it finally worked for me.

Honestly Nokia needs to pull their head out of their a$$ and install software that isn't laggy and doesn't require rebooting after each update, which seems to happen every few weeks.

Not to mention Ovi music, when I installed it once, decided to replace my default MP3 codec and I haven't been able to change it back. So when I uninstalled Ovi music I lost my ability to play MP3s until I started using another music player.

Honestly whoever writes their PC software is a moron.

Hmmm,at the end of the day yesterday i had 48mb RAM once i closed everything. Should have more today as i deleted the Java Runtime Beta2 app i installed a while ago.

You're right, I reread the posting on AAS. It's not confirmed to have kinetic scrolling, no. Sorry about that. However, from the looks of the video, I can't even tell for sure if it says v31 .... or v21 (which, as we all know, was issued for a few markets in APAC / EMEA region), If that were the case, then all it means is that the video shows the v21 firmware in the video which we have known about. I'm gonna re-watch the vid...

All the same, from what I hear, even the v21 FW fixes a million different IMPORTANT bugs. I'll update to ANYTHING, at this point..... especially if its bugfixes and performance enhancements....regardless of whether we get any new features.
