I can access the MC when conected in PC suite mode but when I choose Massive Storage I get this error

Does anyone know what might be the cause?

everything works fine for me except i couldn't update to the free ovi maps. But i just went to the ovi maps site and dled it.

Could be that i did a hard reset before updating.

Actually, a soft reset would be resettimg phone settings back to default without erasing personal data. A hard reset is factory settings which would erase your data.

Wirelessly posted (nokia 5800: Mozilla/5.0 (SymbianOS/9.4; U; Series60/5.0 Nokia5800d-1b/21.2.025; Profile/MIDP-2.1 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 ) AppleWebKit/413 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/413)

the updated firmware fixed the bugs i was experiencing and sped the whole thing up. A lot quicker and just more polished in general.

The voices with TTS will say "with street names" in their title. And any that have been downloaded to your phone will have a little phone icon next to them in the list.

So when you open the list from Navigation, Drive guidance you don't see anything like "English (US)- with street names" in the list?

To fix my phone before, I used Navifirm to download the 0591814 firmware listed as Nokia 5800 XpressMusic (RM-428) 40.2.5, 5800 RM-428 NAM Region US Sangalo Navi. That one was actually meant for the Navigation edition but I used it to do the repair on my Xpressmusic model. Download all files related to that firmware. You can then use JAF to install the firmware if all goes well.

i totally hear ya about text entry... Im fortunate enough to have a nokia bluetooth keyboard that i use for heavy text or emailing jobs. For most stuff i now use the full qwerty although i USED to prefer predictive. I still use predictive for one handed necessities.

Did you guys know that depending on the orientation of the phone, images taken by the camera are saved in the correct orientation as well?

I was under the impression that since the layout of the buttons encourages you to take photos holding the phone sideways, that images would ALWAYS be saved that way, so you'd have to manually rotate the photo after you took it, if you wanted a "tall" picture.

However, if you take a photo with the phone in its normal position, not sideways, and snap a photo... go take a look at the photo in the gallery. It's in the correct orientation already! Neat.

Did everyone else already know about this? :P

I've found that the only way to get a decent shot from the phone is to go in each time and manually set the Scene Mode and White Balance. If I do that, I can get a decent shot.

Did you get a Rogers BRANDED 5800? That will affect the FW versions.... As for it being gray, that just means its the NAM version which is a good thing. U will love the 5800 once ur used to it. Fwiw, thats the same version as my unbranded 5800 and i have the newest working fw....

I haven't installed anything new, but I notice that my phone free memory is slowly going down. I'd check every couple or 3 days, and it ever so slowly gets lower and lower. ie. from about 27.8 MB about 3 weeks ago to 25.6 MB now. Is it caching web pages or something, and how can I clear it to free up memory?
