[NEWS] R.I.P. Kids WB 1995-2008, Kids'WB.com Emerges April 2008

4Kids isn't aiming for a toy line with Dinosaur King. They're more likely promoting the video/card game combination that Sega is producing.

But it is possible that a toy line will be made if the series gains enough popularity. And it's doing pretty good on 4Kids so far, so that might just happen.

I can agree full heartedly about the hypocracy of these groups. Though I will say the "Male enhancement" thing, all the while not airing PSA's about sex is pretty much a drug company conspiracything I don't want to get into. However, there are 2 other huge factors at work. Apparently, network execs believe that everyone in the world has cable hook ups. And as a result, when the ratings for network cartoons slid, it meant that everyone was only watching the cable programs. Not everyone can afford cable, and while network shows like Heroes and Desperate Housewives are brining network programming back in focus, the competition between the cable networks the main networks own is apparently enough to warrent them bowing out of the less popular option.

The second factor is the FCC's padded ruling. The one where they pretend to do good by limiting food adverts, while they really just wanted to please a bunch of lobbyists who wanted one corperation to own as many networks they can afford. Given to that the other FCC ruling about E/I programs (that ironically holds what's left of SatAm programming together) hinders the development of non-education programming. and for legal purposes, that's why the main networks just reran their cable counterparts as hand me down reruns to satiate those guidlines. It'a all about the Childhood obesity scare that only really affects the poor and poor minorities who actually have to eat junk, because the healthier options are just out of their ecomic reach. All the while, doing what "experts" do best... point the fingers so they can get people to look the other way. I'm all about health, but I don't see why a Count Chocula Ad has to be villified, when the same people would decry a tax increase so schools can afford meals that aren't 99.9% gristle.

So Yu-Gi-Oh! returns to CW after a year off. If the 4Kids jabronies are smart, the lineup should look a little something like this:

7: Johnny Test (4th season)
7:30: Tom & Jerry Tales (3rd season)
8: Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get a Clue! (3rd season)
8:30: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (CW debut)
9: Sonic X (CW debut)
10: Yu-Gi-Oh! (CW return)
10:30: Spider-Man
11: Legion of Super-Heroes
11:30: The Batman

This way, you put the three most desirable 4Kids shows in the center of the lineup. I think part of the reason 4Kids is leaving Fox is because their anime-heavy lineup has worn out its welcome. I would put Eon Kid and Skunk Fu on the bench to plug in as needed in mid-season.

Uh, no.

First of all, the article says that the current shows may still air on the network. 4Kids will probably see how the ratings fare this season before they decide to continue with them.

Second, I'd hardly consider 4Kids immersed in anime. While it's true that they have dubbed many Japanese properties in the past, currently they are only producing TWO anime. Hardly enough to fill an entire block with.

Well, they are holding their own against ABC Kids and Kids' WB. I don't know how much profit they're getting out of it, but it must be somewhat satisfactory if they're going for a second block.

NO!!! :crying: The last great SatAM block...gone? I don't want to see Kids' WB go!

*pondering* Hey, on the OTHER hand...

CW sold its morning timeslot to 4Kids, but not KWB itself...Hmm.
The timing couldn't be better to consider a Kids' WB block on CN.

Think about it...this idea could totally boost CN's ratings!!! After all, I guarantee that a lot of KWB fans are also fans of CN (me, for instance), so this timeslot would be matchmade in heaven. I can see it now:

SNEAK PEEK:

ANNOUNCER - Coming next fall, prepare to get tooned in! Watch Kids WB! on CN, right here on Cartoon Network! Saturday mornings RULE AGAIN!!! :p ;)

Dont forget this 4kids we're talking about. The shows that I would like them to keep are The Spectacular Spiderman (Obviously) Tom and Jerry Tales (makes me feel like a Kid again) and Skunk fu after those finish I just switch over to CN and watch Ben10 and Transformers Animated.

Sad to see a wonderful block like Kids WB go away. Since the merger it seem the block was going to be doom. I will always remember Kids WB being one of the last great Saturday AM Cartoons. R.I.P. Kids WB.

(Yells out a string of curses)
Just when I finally have a reason to wake up early on a Sat.s again.
To quote the Simpsons' Comic book Guy: "There is no emoticon for what I'm feeling."

I'm confused about something here. I thought that 4Kids still would have their block on Fox, as well as having a new block on the CW. I heard it was part of a contract deal or something. But did something change? I simply ask since I'm confused about that. Anyway, I do think that its a great idea to have the new TMNT series, along with Yu-Gi-Oh!, to come onto their new block. That will probably help them to gain a good following of viewers.

This is pretty sad, though Kids WB has been dead to me ever since they canceled Xiolin Showdown and replaced it with Loonatics Unleashed, it still remains one of my dearest and strongest memories of my childhood. When we lost our cable and I was torn away from CN, Kids WB was there every weekday afternoon and Saturday morning to satisfy my cartoon needs. My drive to be an animator/cartoonist was because of the classic Kids WB shows we all know and love and for that I'll never forget it, ever.

Unreal. After fox kids died kids WE was there for me. Now about this time next year neither won`t be around anymore. Atleat TMNT 2003 will get more airtime...I hope. I wonder which kids WB toons 4kids will keep?
