New Tricks - Series 7

I'm surprised no one has picked up on the cock-up in tonight's episode when referring to the Metropolitan Police guidelines on patrolling marches. They referred to a memo from the Chief Constable. The Met doesn't have a CC. It has a Commissoner. All those police advisors credited and none of them picked it up. Oops!

I thought when the nurse mentioned her adopted son I knew how it would end and thought that seemed too obvious. Turned out to be a red herring though!

It would be a shame not to see the show going to 10 years. Maybe they could take a leaf out of Doctor Who and do it the way they did with David Tennant. Instead of doing a series do specials.

Let us have series 8 then over the next two years just do four or five 90 minutes specials to take us up to 10 years.

Samantha Bond played the mother. Probably why they included a little aside about "Miss Moneypenny" when they went to MI5 headquarters ?..she played the role in four films.

ps..It seemed to take them a long time to work it out ?..as soon as we knew she had been sleeping with the lodgers, I had it sussed.

I don't like to see a great series try and carry on past its best, but if New Tricks is still successful and pulling in the viewers then there is no reason why they shouldn't continue for as long as everyone involved is happy to do so.

Yes, but so were Waking The Dead and Spooks, both good dramas in their own way, yet both have been given the BBC axe.
