New Evangelion Movie Hits September 1st, 2007!

I was kinda hoping for Frank Sinatra's, but its a nice version of the song, and a lot better than the "Fry me to the moon" We got in the original series.

I'm pretty excited about the new movies as well. I liked the original but was dissapointed by the ending. I'm hoping the new movies remove alot of the christian metaphores, as well the main charachters constant whining.

While I'm a big Eva fan, I'm really still skeptical that the new movies are going to live up to the Eva legacy.

Anno's ego-driven press release has done little to sway my opinion about this being a cash-in on a franchise.

I have a weird feeling that it'll be an improvement and a decent film but that die hard EVA fans will hate it due to a lack of depression-inspired psycobabble, which would be rather ironic. That's pretty much what I'm hoping for, actually.

The only reason they are making new movies is because they rekon people didnt get enough out of what already had been made, so this next movie better be good or Eva is just gonna plummit in future projects.

I find it interesting that he's decided to split off and create a new studio though. I guess he was just getting bored with how things were going at Gainax (and given stuff like Melody of Oblivion and This Ugly and Beautiful World, I can't blame him really.)
