New e61 Firmware

Did you try re-running the flash process?? Plug your phone in, let it boot to the error message, run the NSU, see what happens... ??

Anyway, that sucks man.

Quick question re: E61's performance. I find that when I browse the web, the native browser will every so often just shut down for no apparent reason. Any thoughts as to why this is happening or is it par for the course?

Thanks.

mine failed at about the 80% mark when it had that ape test thing on the screen, i pulled the battery and it wouldn't boot back up. i had to hold * + 3 + green and power for a few min to get it back up.

you just have to find which product code matches your keypad. there is a post on the forums here that lists out every product code for the e61 and where it is from.

I agree that finding a code with a keyboard and update is the answer. Doing that, however, is easier said than done. I tried numerous codes and still ended up with a mismatched keypad.

Upgraded to v3 -- updater worked like a charm for me. Biggest improvement I've noticed is with Bluetooth -- improved audio clarity with the Sony HBH-DS970 (people used to complain that my voice would 'cut out' all of the time) and the Nokia HS-12W finally appears to work with the E61 now (the HS-12W used to 'freeze up' and reboot every time I used it).

Some sites may crash the browser since its not a fully supported one. It works for most sites but certain site elements may make it crash.

Just ran the update and everything seems to be fine. The only thing is that I get a memory error when trying to restore the backup to my phone's memory.

I just did the update and wow, what a difference in speed. Opening apps and switching between them is so much faster.

The flash itself went smoothly and rather fast. I was surprised at how fast it went. In some of my previous posts i had complained that the NSU was just freezing at the startup screen or when it was trying to find the phone. For those with the same problem and running WinXP, on your PC go to start>run and type in "msconfig". On the startup tab, click "disable all". NSU should now run. At least it did for me. After the flash, you can go back into msconfig and click "enable all" and your pc is back to where it was. Something was conflicting with NSU and it just couldn't see my phone at all. Stupid Nokia tech. support couldn't even make this simple recommendation.

My firmware update went smoothly - no crash with NSU, immediate SUCCESS message, win XP yada yada.

However, the firmware update has messed up the keypad language settings, how can that be fixed?

Mucho gracias.

I found that after I updated to the latest firmware it's happening a lot more than it used to. The browser will just shut down for no reason.

i did the update too and everything is ok, except i can't delete themes now.
i had some themes on my memory card and now i can't delete them.

can you pls tell me the way to delete them ? i know it was posted here, but i can't find it

the computer won't recognize the phone at all, when you plug in the usb it doesn't show up in device manager or anything. it seems that the os is corrupted now. anyone know if there is any command for the e61 like the old phones when you could do green + * + 3 to format it?

i think it might be time to send it to iunlock if they have the newest firmware yet that is
