Naughty Cineworld!!!!!

According to Wikipedia, since 2003.

I got caught going into the wrong screen to avoid the surcharge the other day. :o Serve me right for choosing the only CW with a roaming security guard, I suppose.

Nothing came of it - I suppose my age and the fact the guard wasn't 100% sure I was doing something wrong meant that he didn't pursue it (or me).

I got told about this via the weekly unlimited email. However when I mentioned it to a cashier in the cinema he said that they were told we weren't getting told about the new charges and the cashiers would have to take the brunt of all the complaints.

I frankly think it stinks that we now have to pay an extra

Have you looked at your contract? Does it possibly have a get-out clause along the lines of "Cineworld reserves the right to make an additional charge for certain films" or "Cineworld reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions... "? You know the kind of thing.

The problem is probably that by going to see a 3D film you are costing Cineworld money. If they have to pay the distributors more to show 3D films than 2D films then they are in trouble, because you're already paying less to see the film than they need to make money. It's their fault and morally they are in the wrong, but they may be in danger losing a lot of money if they let unlimited card holders watch 3D films for no extra charge.

There also seems to be competitions on the website that you can only enter by pre-booking...which we can't do :(

You'd think that there'd be more little incentives or giveaways to Unlimited customers, as a kind of 'thank you' - but it seems not.

I aobut to renew my cineworld unlimited card, is the new rate of 13.50 including no extra surcharge on 3D films anyone know.

Update up until now they have got away with charging the extra 1.50 i paid it for ice age last week:eek:

unlimited means unlimited in my book, I was also refused entry to half a film th eother day when I went with my card and ended up being half hour early so asked for tickets to hard crank then leave and go into aonther film half hour later and they said no:eek:

As I understand it, an Unlimited customer who uses their card a lot must be costing Cineworld money, anyway. Especially if they avoid buying over-priced refreshments.

I believe (not 100% on this) that cinemas pay the studios a set amount per seat for each showing. That's per seat, not per audience member. So, Unlimited works best for Cineworld when it functions as a variable price per-seat to fill up empty screenings. Can't sell all the seats at

whats the change in pre book rule, where a film is big i go down at opening time to get my ticket so dotn run the risk of not getting in esp on childrens school holidays as to get the kiRAB there is a effort and not to get in would be disgraceful/

also orange wednesdays is a total night mare they are queuing out the door every week. it almost loks like a film premiere:eek:

I buy and pay for the whole year every January so this won't affect me yet and although it has gone up it is still good value as the single ticket price is now about

Cancelled mine over a year ago.

Nearest one around these parts is Stockport which is always empty or full of chavs and litter and their screens are tiny as well.

It's only really worth it if you go more than 2 times a month and i've cut down on watching mediocre stuff like Wolverine and decided to stick to watching the big blockbusters at the Odeon which has IMAX as well!

:mad::mad:The full fact is as somebody said it is not unlimited. Unlimited up till recently included the 3d movies and unless we sign a contract for that then if you was a subscriber before that then you should still get it included. This is cineworlRAB latest attempt and screwing more money. Maybe we need a online petition and send it to them. Im cancelling i dont see why i should remain with them
