Naughty Cineworld!!!!!

Since yesterday Bradford Cineworld has been closed. Doors say the following:

This cinema is closed due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Anyone know why or even if any other ones have been closed?

So, anyone know if there's a 2D alternative of 'G-Force'? Or is another film that us unlimited customers will have to shell

Dear Sir,

Hi! I have membership to CINEWORLD unlimited since August 2007. I pay for it up front for a years subscription and have a signed contract. I Renewed in the second year by phone. Their unlimited package states any film any time.

With the increase of 3D films they have put a notice up saying unlimited customers will incur a surcharge of

I'm not defending Cineworld in any way - I wouldn't go to Cineworld if you paid me - but surely their argument would be that the surcharge applies to everyone who goes to see certain films whether they have an unlimited card or not. So they aren't singling out unlimited card holders for special treatment, they're overcharging everyone equally.

pretty much - i expect it's covered in the small print, so people won't have a leg to stand on anyway.

i think cancelling in protest amounts to little more than cutting your nose off to spite your face.

i used to love Cineworld but Wigan was one of the Cinemas they had to reliquish due to competition laws,so its now an Empire cinema, been to Vue a few times and i like it,but i tend to now go to the Printworks in Manchester as there is an Odeon with an IMAX screen there

WARNING!!!

Taking your old 3D glasses will not allow you to get off without paying the extra cost of a 3D screening. The cost is for the upgrade to the projection equipment (IIRC costs around

Cineworld are so expensive! We always try to see films off peak now and smuggle in Capri Suns :p

Are 3D films actually any good?? I'm pretty much blind in one eye (:() and i've been told by my mates that that i wouldn't be able to watch the film to full effect with the glasses and only one eye.

Really? I thought Orange paid nothing near the full price of the ticket. The cinemas are happy to accept it though because they hope that these people, that wouldn't normally go, would buy extras .

The charge started on the 1st May (i.e. only this weekend). I've been to several different films this weekend at three different CineworlRAB. Only Rochester had signs up. I'm guessing it's been as badly communicated to the staff as to the customers.

I think it's a bit naughty. The Unlimited card is... well... unlimited. It's good value for money, sure, but I object to paying what, for me, is about twice as much to see 3D films. The email says that "2D versions are usually available" but (a) that's not true, and (b) it just restricts the overall choice of films when they do that.

I do tend to break "Cineworld Lore" if there's a good reason - splitting long films into two viewings, buying more than one advance ticket at a time, sneaking in my own refreshments. I guess 3D surcharge evasion will just have to go on the list.

BTW Coraline is very good. No one checked tickets on the door. ;)
