Naruto Shippuden Arc 4 Talkback (spoilers)

As a heaRAB up, it's official now that 144 will be the start of a new filler arc, about

the Six-Tails Jinchuriki. Looks like it's in the same vein as the Sanbi arc that came after Hidan and Kakuzu.

Yes this may create some odd conflicts with the manga storyline.

Apparently it won't be as long as the other filler arcs, as it's supposed to end ~April. That would make it a little shorter than the Sora filler arc. That's just the length floating around the message boarRAB though, but the estimate for the length of the Bleach filler arc was spot-on, so.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

God! It's just so hard to deal with! Why?! Why must every time an adult ninja is badass on Naruto, they die? Why?!! Jiraiya.... (sobs in corner)

That does not seem right.

It was confirmed that three tailed beasts were captured before the One Tail was extracted from Gaara. In Part Two, we have seen the extraction of the One Tail, Two Tails, Three Tails, and Four Tails. Madara confirmed that Akatsuki has all except for the Eight Tails and Nine Tails. This makes the three that were captured before the start of Part Two to be the Five Tails, Six Tails, and Seven Tails. So unless this is some wierd flasrabroadlack, we have having a filler arc paradoxical to the manga storyline.

Ack, it seems Naruto.com being behind strike again. So...the great Toad Lord is among his great forefathers?

I bet the anime will make me cry as the comic did...

I suppose I'm incredibly evil because I was happy about the way that fight turned out. However, I will admit that that fight made me respect Jiraya a lot more than I ever have in the past.

Anyway, that fight turned out to be great, in terms of animation. None of that hideous looking stuff where people look like missles and have missing noses and whatnot. I was under the impression that Jiraya's sage mode would turn him green for some reason.. hehe.

It's looking more like the Six Tails has not been extracted at all. This promo shows the Six Tails Jinchuuriki interacting with Naruto in the current anime setting. This is where we have our paradox. Three beasts were extracted before the four shown in the anime with two still within their Jinchuuriki. 3 + 4 + 2 = 9 The Six Tails should have been extracted a long time ago.

EDIT:

After watching episode when the One Tail is completely extracted, I saw the statue with only two irises before completing the extraction. So, animation goof or secret plan for future filler?

This is going to be a headache, that is for sure. I think it'd have rathered the
Pain Invasion
arc battles be extended, if necessary. Naruto Anime staff typically just makes Naruto look bad (hello, Shipp

To be honest I didn't think Jiraiya's death was as sad as it was in the manga. However, I will say that his death was way more epic and I thought the fight in general was pretty damn good.

I am honestly just waiting for Tsunade's scene, that's where his death got me the most because I felt terrible for her.

I don't see how that's a spoiler as it has already happened. But, it was like that for the entire arc, so I don't see how it could be a goof. Anyway, at the beginning of Shippuden I seem to remeraber that Deidara and Sasori said that they captured two Jinchuriki's previously. I also remeraber that Hidan and Kakuzu indicated that they had not captured any. I don't remeraber if Itachi and Kisame had mentioned whether they had captured any, though.

First, from a critical standpoint: With all the mindless drek on all the channels that carry animated series, I'm glad to see that at least a few series are maintaining quality.

Now more importantly, this is the first time in several years that an anime episode has caused a strong emotional impact on me.

Watching Jiraya's final moments... the way he chose to keep going. It WAS the kind of ending he deserved. The Death of a Hokage.

The Man that should have been a Hokage. The Wisest of Hiruzen's three students, and the only Sannin worthy of the title: Hero.

That was incrediblely depressing and again, the anime tops the manga. Wow, this was even better than I had hoped for.

can't wait for Sasuke vs Itachi now. That's going to be redicilous.

I seem to recall Ni'i being hunted down by Hidan and Kakuzu, the three tails turtle not having a host and being captured by Tobi and Deidara, Sasori and Deidara of course got Gaara first, Itachi and Kisame had the Four-Tailed Jinch

[strike]Shi..[/strike] I mean, wow. I can certainly see a lot of people tearing up big time. It almost made me tear up and I don't even like Jiraya.

I definately see the frog at the end hitting a lot of people.

I think I might stop reading the manga and just watch the anime instead, that way I might be able to enjoy the series more. These latest episodes have been really pleasing. So perhaps seeing everything in motion might give me a different opinion about the series altogether.

I haven't seen much of Shippuden outside of these latest episodes of Jiraya vs Pain and then Team Asuma vs Hidan and Kakuzu, and then what was shown on DXD.

How are the fillers for these? If they're comedic based I'll just skip them, but if they're action-y (and the fights are good) I just might give them a whirl.

I thought the manga or a databook said that Akatsuki got three beasts before extracting the One Tail, and they visibly extracted four in Part 2: One Tail from Gaara, Two Tails from Ni'i, Three Tails, and Four Tails from Roshi. If my sources were incorrect, then we just have another filler arc that feels weird. Character designs for non-canon characters seem, to me, out of place in Naruto. They almost seem like they are from a different anime all together. Add that with inserting filler in an inappropriate place in the story while including a canon "character" just seem strange. If it were a flasrabroadack arc where we see some jinchuuriki get captured by Akatsuki, then I guess things would have been a bit better. Oh well.

Well, I don't remeraber how it was in the manga - it was so long ago - but in the anime, in episode...18, 19 or 20, one of those, Deidara specifically says that Akatsuki captured and extracted two tailed beasts before Gaara.

So in the anime so far, there were the two previously captured and extracted Jinchuriki, which we conclude are the Five- and Seven-Tails. Then the One-Tails was extracted from Gaara. Then the Two-Tails was extracted from Yugito. Then there was the Three-Tails filler arc. Then Itachi and Kisame captured the Four-Tails Jinchuriki. And then Bee and Naruto are around. So I guess this doesn't contradict what the anime's done so far.

I don't know, maybe the anime staff planned for a Six-Tails filler arc down the road in advance. Some actual planning ahead on their part is encouraging.

The design for the Six-Tails Jinchuriki is canon, though, they're using the same one that was in that Jinchuriki colorspread Kishi did for whatever chapter.
